Original Language?

What is the original language of the Resident Evil / Biohazard games? I assume Japanese, since the developer is Japanese. But it could also be English, because this game is set in north america? It would be nice if Steam would tell which the original language of the Titles are, like Netflix does.

It's originally written in japanese, then translated into english but english is the original voice over language, as in, when this game originally came out in Japan, it was only voiced in english with japanese subtitles. This HD Remaster added a new japanese dub (Only available if you actually buy a japanese region copy.) but the voice over script is not based on the original japanese script, but instead they re-translated the english script back into japanese and based the japanese dub on that. Also, the lip syc matches the english VA.
