I know in RE0 there was one of the buttons to do this
Also, *she
Re2 remake? No, you can get a dodge if enemy tried to grab you from too afar with cool animation but thats itt.
Re3 remake offers you a dodge move.
Also in LOTS of games if you are grabed, dazed, stunned and etc you are required to mash buttons or wiggle stick to recover faster. That kind of info was probaly covered in manuals but for majority of players its kinds basics of gameplay like a WASD movement.
RE1make is already kind of an outlier in that *only* mashing the directional buttons gets you out of grabs, while in the older RE titles both that and mashing the face buttons would work.
Also, just to clarify, getting out of grabs doesn't mean that you won't get bitten, that is unavoidable once you're grabbed, but you get out of grabs faster and take way less damage than doing nothing.
RE2make has no way to get out of grabs faster without a defense weapon but the amount of damage you take on standard difficulty is about on par with the amount of damage you take in the RE1make if you get out of grabs faster.
- hit the movement keys fast
- use personal items like knives/grenades
