Let's talk about corpses..
.. in this game, of course. There's four that I can think of...

1. Outside the drug save room in the mansion
2. Near the elevator in the kitchen in the mansion
3. In the stairwell with the birdcage directly after the hallway where Kenneth is
4. In the Guard house dead with bee stings

The first two never come to life; the first one is actually removed from the mansion on the return trip because apparently the game can't handle two enemies of different types in the same area (hunters eventually crash through the windows).

But that third one always confused me. When you examine it, you get something similar to "There's a corpse, collapsed on the floor like it was an instant death. What the hell happened in this mansion?" As soon as you pick up the fuel canteen (at least, I think that's the trigger), the body will disappear. No explanation - just gone. I originally assumed it to be the zombie that enters the kitchen via the cutscene, but if that's the case, where did it go in between those events?

Where did he go?

Thoughts?

They can move, and some can be for looks, y'know.

Thats fair enough but removing bodies asks questions also where did they go? if the developers
decided to remove them on the return to the mansion wjat happened to them my onl guess is the hunters eat them but who knows

the third corpse from your example gets eaten by crows. When you revisit the room at a later time, pay attention to the sound of crows. It's assumed that the crows came through the window, ate the corpse, and are now just relaxing.

why is this even important?

I love these small misteries from the old Resident Evil.

It is POSSIBLE for a reborn zombie (the angry ones that run and claw you) to be in the same room as the standard walking zombie.

I always figured the corpse in the birdcage room is the zombie that spawns on the west balcony when you pick up the Armor Key, and follows you onto the upper floor of the west staircase. Same model.
