Is anyone else feel extremely disappointed with Resident Evil: Vendetta? [ Spoilers]
So I finally saw the movie last night and I feel that it's a huge step back from Resident Evil: Damnation. The whole thing felt like those crappy live action movies, but in full CGI.

The main villain was literally a discount Albert Wesker.
Rebecca didn't have much role to speak of. You could say she was there only for fan service.
Same goes Maria Gomez (the chick in the catsuit) from Arias' terrorist group. She had about 2 or 3 minor scenes.

The final BOW felt disappointing as well, because it was basicly a rehashed Tyrant.

The plot felt rushed, and to be honest not much was happening in terms in story.

Now let's talk about the action.
I know Resident Evil isn't known for realistic action scenes and choreography as of late, but Vendetta made everything so over-the-top that even Resident Evil 6 looks more realistic.
Leon always has been a little too good at his job since Resi4, but the way he was portrayed in this film it felt like I'm watching a male version of Alice. There I said it, Leon in this film reminds me of that Mary Sue character.

Here are 2 examples from the preview clips that were released a couple weeks ago:

However it's his final fight with Diego/Tyrant that was the worst.
Leon literally goes full-on Spider-man mode on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Tyrant, blocking almost every blow while dancing around him and raining bullets in his face.

On the positive side, Vendetta is still better than those live action movies!

I'm not disappointed because I was expecting it to be meh. It's just action fun to entertain, with Chris and Leon dancing with zombies, another terrorist who wants to spread a virus across the world and random cops/BSAA guys dying in seconds.

Well, the first 2 were pretty decent.

I couldn't agree more with your thoughts. Rumor has it said that this CG movie would somehow be connected to the game RE 7, which turned out wrong. And this movie sucks in every way that an original RE series fan never would have expected.

This.

why anyone expects RE cgi movies would good is beyond me every movie is re-hash plot and characters exist for the sake of fan service.

Chris and Leon only exists in story purely out of fan service nothing more they have no real relevance to plot/story ever since Wesker/Umbrella were gone because their stories are already been done/resolved and capcom should have already killed them off or retired them.

the only cgi RE movie i would care about if it completely new normal guy character not this "superheros save the day punches zombies in the face and use guns like toys".....
