Trove
Trove Offline mode
They should allow an option to play Trove offline. Servers would be less crowded for shorter login times, and some people may prefer to play solo.

This would cause enormous problems with item duping. If the game was offline, people would quickly find a way to hack their inventories to give infinite amounts of any item, which would destroy the game's economy and progression system. The only way it would work is if it was a completely standalone version where nothing could be transferred to the online mode, which would take a lot of effort that could be spent on actually updating and improving the game.

why would a "standalone version" require a lot of effort? same game in every way other than the multiplayer aspect.

if they made it available then people could continue playing while waiting in queu's and while servers are down.

If there's only a multiplayer version, transforming it to a solo version gonna take more time than the downtime servers :D

I would actually rock the hell out of some offline. Have it work the same as other games that are multiplayer with offline support. This would be an awesome time killer if you are traveling and don't have internet. +1 this idea.

It is not nearly as much work as you think. It would require a substantially larger download on the player's end as their machine would have to host the files that are normally on the server.

Think Diablo 2, you had your offline characters you could play, but couldnt take them online. This essentially would work the same way. They would just have to put a tag on a character that is offline so it only appears if you try to play offline. If you want to play online, play with your online-specific character.

Edit: You could take your diablo 2 characters online, but only on non ranked servers. (who plays those anyways)

THINK MINECRAFT ffs Singleplayer/Multiplayer. SP should be RPG offline with different characters than MP ones

I think that an offline mode would make the game more enjoyable because more people who dont have internet constantly would be able to use it, and then if you want, you can set it to where it works like "Minecraft". Minecraft has a single-player mode, multiplayer mode, and a realms mode(needs internet as well). If Trove did something like how Minecraft's programming worked(single-player worlds, servers that can be hosted by the game itself OR servers hosted by people that play the game(like minecraft) to their liking). So, the basic point of what i'm saying is that Trove CAN add single-player mode in a new update, and permenatly add it to the game so more people can enjoy the game, it will increase their sales, economy, and overall, just make the players happy.

and btw, the single-player mode for minecraft only took about acouple months, so it shouldn't be too hard to make a single-player mode for this game.

it would be great if there was some offline mode where always when you start you have the items you had online but the progress doesent save or saves only for the single player(obviously) but uh yeah my internet cuts off every now and then so that would be great

Since most F2P games eventualy die out i hope they make it so others can enjoy the game in singleplayer if it does die.
