Fullscreen problem help!

i clicked on the setting of ful screen and now i can't see but 20% of the game screen can't even see the settings to set it back to windowed mode , i tried turning fullscreen = true to false in the trove.cfg file but it automaticaly goes back to true after launching the game , please! any help is appreciated.

it could be that your desktop resolution got changed and the game goes by your resolution by default.
right click on your desktop and click screen resolution, and make sure its on the "recommended" one.

or try changing it in the game, also try to do it in the file directory.

That would be my guess, sorry i cant help with otherwise if this does not work.

EDIT: I would like to add that if the game resolution and the desktop resolution are different, it could be a problem for some games.

Go to %appdata% and delete trove.cfg, that should fix the problem.

I was facing the very same problem ad this is what I did to solve it:

1) Entered the game.
2) I created any random character from what I could see and so the game started.
3) Press ESC to open the Main Menu
4) Go to Settings
5) In settings, go to the Video section.
6) Change the Window Mode from Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen and apply your changes.

This should resolve this problem

Well, the thing is, our problem is that we can't even see the "Settings" part of the menu, we only see "st" and "how".

Just play around with the Trove.cfg until you got it right!

Oh yea, I've fixed it by now thanks to Reddit, so this thing is solved. Thanks for all the help though.

No one actually said how to do this fix but I figured it out.

1.Go to %appdata%

2. Look for the folder named "Trove"

3. Then you will see a CFG File named "Trove.cfg"

4. Open it with notepad.

5. after step 4 look for something that says "WindowMode = 1"

6. Change the 1 in "WindowMode = 1" to a 0

7. Example : "WindowMode = 0"

Coco, thank you for the reply however late, since it might helps others in the case it happens to them. That said, this thread is basically two years old, and the solution has been found and posted previously. Nevertheless, I hope your comment helps someone.

i searched and i have no such folder... tried to modify cfg files within the steamapps folder. nothing happens, still cant open the game without it going apparently fullscreen
