1. Press the Windows key + R - this opens the Windows Run dialog.
2. Type in the following and press enter: %appdata%\Trove\
3. There, you'll see Trove.cfg - open it, or try to. Windows is going to ask you what you want to open it with. Select the "Let me choose" option, and scroll down until you see Wordpad. Uncheck the "Always open this type of file with this program" box, otherwise .CFG filetypes get associated with Wordpad.
4. Once inside the file, go down to the [UI] section. There, you'll see "Scale = [number]" section. - this is what you need to edit.
Since I haven't messed with mine, it is the default. I have nothing there. Mine reads: Scale = , with a space after the equals sign.
Change yours to that, exit/save the file, and run the game again.
PS: If you're running this on something other than Windows, you're going to have to locate the Trove.cfg file on your own and edit it with whatever text editor you have available.

Either something else was wrong, or you have (had?) some weird corruption or hardware problem.
But... I guess everything is good now, so yay?
