You're going to need to edit the Trove.cfg file. To do so:

1. Press the Windows key + R - this opens the Windows Run dialog.
2. Type in the following and press enter: %appdata%\Trove\
3. There, you'll see Trove.cfg - open it, or try to. Windows is going to ask you what you want to open it with. Select the "Let me choose" option, and scroll down until you see Wordpad. Uncheck the "Always open this type of file with this program" box, otherwise .CFG filetypes get associated with Wordpad.
4. Once inside the file, go down to the [UI] section. There, you'll see "Scale = [number]" section. - this is what you need to edit.

Since I haven't messed with mine, it is the default. I have nothing there. Mine reads: Scale = , with a space after the equals sign.

Change yours to that, exit/save the file, and run the game again.

PS: If you're running this on something other than Windows, you're going to have to locate the Trove.cfg file on your own and edit it with whatever text editor you have available.

Ok one more thing I entered the game and apparently i messed up the icons and everything such as the xp bar health bar the esc and everything were still the same as in they were to close up to the screen and the other difference was that the screen when you move your mouse and you see your surroundings well on my screen everything was upside down L:/

Editing the cfg file, specifically the key in the section I mentioned, should NOT have had any of those effects.

Either something else was wrong, or you have (had?) some weird corruption or hardware problem.

But... I guess everything is good now, so yay?

this worked for me. I was playing at 3840x2160 and couldn't read the menus. I set the scale to 1.5 and hit save 1=same size, 2=too big. 1.5 work maybe 1.75 might work too. Now I'm running 4k and able to read the UI. Good tips!

After all this years, thank you. BTW 3840x2160 4k 1.75 is amazing.
