Tomb Raiser is an easy class to play with.
I'd say Lunar Lancer can be a bit iffy sometimes but it's a good class.
My favourite class is Boomranger, but there's no such thing as a "best class" in the game. People play the class they love. Or other people try to find what is the best class when there isn't really one in Trove. I've played all the classes unlocked so..I learned what I love and what I hate playing as. My least favourite is Gunslinger but again, no such thing as a best or low class in Trove. I feel that Boomeranger and Candy Barb are quite equal, Shadow and Gunslinger have similarities with the charge attack, so..really, just pick what you really want to try. That's what I did and if I hated it, then I hate it but I leveled it up anyways to 20 but never made intentions on upgrading the weapon to radiant but I level it to shadow 4-5.
I would use the Tomb Raiser if i were you.
As for a good all-around class, my choices would be: Dracolyte, Tomb Raiser, Boomeranger, and Lunar Lancer. Why?
1. Dracolyte, with the right build, is immortal. Once you get a Prowling Shadow (or Samantha) pet, almost nothing can kill you. Of course, this only gets better with the more health you have, since the life drain scales off of max health. (Daughter of the Moon normal and Hard mode can probably still one-shot you, though. I got one-shotted outside of Ghost Form on my Tomb Raiser with 91k health. You can avoid the particular attack that does this, however.)
2. Tomb Raiser is also near-immortal. Stack Energy Regen on it and you can use Banshee's Boon (Ghost Form) every 2 seconds or so, which heals all minons around you, causes your basic attack to deal AoE damage, increases that damage, and gives you a 90% damage reduction. Minions are your personal tanks, although Shadow Tower bosses ignore them.
3. Boomeranger is kind of the "jack of all trades" class. Its melee capabilities are strong, it can use a bow very effectively, and its abilities themselves are strong. 1 is a free bomb that destroys a ridiculous amount of blocks (when used right). 2, your ultimate ability, throws an urn down that can do one of four things:
A. Heal you and everyone around you. (red heart things)
B. Reduce the cooldowns of yourself and everyone around you. (blue things)
C. Summon a barrage of bombs that deal damage, and, unfortunately, knock things back. (very annoying)
D. Summons 3 chickens to fight for you temporarily. This is the one you always hope for. These chickens scale off of your physical damage, so the higher it is, the more damage they do. They can also crit, I believe.
To top that off, your right mouse button (RMB) throws a boomerang which stuns enemies, and when caught, reduces the cooldowns of your abilities. The class doesn't rely on Energy Regen at all, so that's a stat you can get away without having on gear. (Which leaves you with other great options.)
And finally, the Broken Lancer.
I call it that because the Lancer's main ability, Crescent Swipe (or whatever it's called), deals a ridiculous amount of damage. A full Radiant-equipped Lancer, with the Martial (double damage) and Surestrike (100% crit) emblems active can walk in to an Uber6 dungeon and literally 1-shot the enemies inside it. Granted, other classes can kill things quickly also, but not quite this fast.
They gain passive movement and attack speed when leveling, has a pretty nice ultimate that deals a high amount of damage on impact, radiates moderate damage afterwards (on top of granting buffs to those around it), and has a passive that randomly enrages you, causing you to increase in size and deal 50% more damage, plus a couple other things.
So imagine what I said above about the emblems being active, now add another 50% damage from that enrage. If you time everything perfectly, you can spam your 1 ability for like... 400k? per hit... and it hits twice. The only other class that can compare to this in terms of raw damage is the Fae Trickster, which can sustain said ridiculous numbers even longer than the Lancer, since it only requires them to hold the attack button and spam their basic attack and not get hit, which all of its abilities focus on. (Not getting hit, that is.)
So again, you'll eventually want all the classes maxed anyway due to mastery, but there are some that are blatantly better than others.
Dracolyte, with the right build, can be very annoying to deal with.
Quite frankly, if you want a "best" class, I'd have to say LL solely because of it's sheer damage output combined with quite a bit of survivability and high mobility.
Lancer for mass damage with surestrike
We ALL know the Revenant is the best class. :3
New class tomorrow.
