Its been awhile since I have played this game can someone give me a run down of how to improve/get the better gear?

For stellar gear you need a magic find of 1000 or more, to get crystal 1 you need 5000 PR and go in u8 topside, you can craft your first crystal weapon at the spawn site for a few ore you can easily collect from the surrounding area. crystal 2 is in u9 topside, crystal 3 is u10, and crystal 4 is in u11 topside. you off course need to meet the PR and light requirements for each world. Light is armor piercing for the topside critters, without it you will do next to nothing in damage there. Your first set of crystal gear you will need to do some upgrades too in order to progress further and the that can be done on a forge like normal gears. the MATS and stuff you need will show on the forge.

well to get to the higher PR stats its is kind of involved ...max PR now is around 36000 and it takes several things to get that high. Perfect gems, dragons, ally's, torches from leviathans and so on ....but take it kinda slow and learn as much as you can and you can get there. and no it don't cost real money or anything. all real money will do is speed up the process a bit.
