Trove isn't pay to win but I guess you haven't really thought that through.

Try getting more then 4 (i think...) action bars in SWtoR without paying.
And so on... they are really advertising to either go sub., or t use the kartell market, a lot ingame.

But there were "dungeons" in SWtoR, some only for the character/companion progression, and some for groups... did they changed that?
Its five bucks to get the premium stuff, subscriber is a waste and unnessicary.

Considering how much hours I spent on Trove, (2k hours), I only spent 85 dollars so far. It's also possible to get from 5k to 10k pr without having to pay for anything. Just avoiding to pay for something will only make your game-play progression slow. Trove is more like a pay to rush mmorpg.

Modded minecraft, if there isn't a single mod that does that then without a doubt a modpack will (Not to mention servers in both vanilla and modded have recreated MMOs)

Terraria if you want to switch to a skill based 2d combat game

pay to reduce grind is often called/considered p2w
It also has patron, which does offer actual advantages

uhhhmm yes it is... as soon as they added gems is when the game when full pay to win, the upgrade rng is garbo, so its either put up with an rng grind that forces u to play for way to long to get something or to pay for the boosts.... or to stop playing the game... which most people stopped when they removed classes to be obtainable via cubits.... and then gems game and even more people quit... honestly i dont know how a P2W system thats in alot of different P2W games.. is apparently not concidered pay to win by you, with me knowing gem systems and the gem like systems in alot of other mmo's out there, or just any terrible RNG upgrading or enchanting system for that matter would be concidred P2W like hell with the boosts and premium materials to give better rng you would have to paw with money... meaning.. its P2W in that u skip the grind and effort to get ahead of everyone else faster and essentially become more powerful than others in like more than half the time it would take a purely F2P person.

About the gem booster packs, that's not entirely true. You can get them randomly when signing in (i've got a few in addition to chaos chests every now and then) or the various bonuses aswell as converting lunar souls in shadow towers. Everything else is spot on though and this is coming from a guy that actively plays the game.
yea but its still only randomly... other than the daily login chance stuff.. and regaurdless of what u can get for free from the grind, its still super P2W, i mean its only a chance to get boosters... and i doubt its the op boosters u would get randomly, which is agian still rng crap, which still promotes p2w.

now im sure that this p2w system would be much more of a problem if this had any actually pvp combat so its not much of an issue with me until pvp gets into the mix because you get people who dont pay fighting people who do pay and that causes issues mostly depending on boosts they get and also having like no time in the game (10 hours) and already have super high pr and not really know whats going on

Can I ask you what's P2W about this game? Please no rage answer or anything I just want to see why some people call it P2W.

1. Classes
Classes used to be sold in cubits and credits. Since that day classes were changed to being sold to credits, a lot of people complained about it. What people should realize is you can get a class coin from the market with flux (prices will change so i can't say how much they normally cost). You can get a free Cloromancer from doing an early Rift quest. Then there's the refer a friend system although you can only refer one player if under 20. People just need to be patient and grind for flux if you really want another class because if you play without paying for the game, it's just a slower progression. What I listed had nothing to do with buying credits, packs, etc.

2. Gems
Boosters are sold in credits and were used to be sold in cubits when it was in PTS. Want more boosters free? Do the contests but it really depends if you are putting effort to the contests. As of this week until Monday, its Defeating enemies. According to your rank/score, you will be eligible for the items off to the side when you open up your leaderboards. Another way to get some boosters is fill your daily star bar to get 500 cubits if non-patron, if you have patron, you get 1500 cubits. With those cubits, you can pretty much buy a gem booster box for 500 cubits and at least get some boosters. I literally mentioned nothing about spending for credits there.

There's probably more reasons out there why people think its p2w but these are the most topics that people complain about calling Trove p2w. Personally, i don't think it is yet. It may suck but oh, people are never satisfied with Trove anyways so that's not my problem to deal with.

About the Classes, they should make Class Coins a Drop in Chaos Chests. Make them a rare drop from the chest. That way you could get classes for free without relying on someone to have bought a class coin from the store to put on the market. That could also increase sales in Chaos Chests. Just a thought.

Overall this game is NOT pay 2 win. Its pretty easy to get around the so called pay wall (Doesnt exist btw). You only have to pay if you want to make progress faster than the standard player, even then you can get 30 day patron passes from the market if you do some good ol MMO grinding.

Stop complaining about the non existent pay wall and just play the game.

I know I just wanted to see the OP's opinion why he thinks this game is P2W.

There is nothing P2W about this game, this game is all about collecting stuff and making your character strong, which you can get it done by normally playing the game.

And gems? You can't pay to get high PR on your character it's all personal work to get your character strong.

Just so you know OP i got purple name as a free 2 play player ;)
