Need help editing a mod
I'm trying to edit a mod using notepad, so the item that gets replaced is changed. issue is... every time I make a change, the mod no longer works (unless I put back the original), with an error message either being that the archive header couldn't be read, or at times even that the integrity of the files couldn't be verified. putting back the name of the original item fixes it, so i know its not saving it with notepad that broke something.

Does anyone know what i could do?

It's actually in a zip file. You can use mod manager / trove dev tools to unzip it.

Depends on your mod, if isn't a theme / costumes mod, You need a flash action script knowledge to edit fla files too.

Also if you are going to use someone mod, for your creation first try to asking his or her permission about it. It's saves you from a lot of troubles, after you release it.

You can find modding tutorials on trove forums too.

Best of luck :steamhappy:

Oh i dont plan on releasing it, its very much for personal use ^^ and will look for trove dev tools then... Maybe indeed it was my notepad usage that made a mess ^^

And its a costume mod. I just want to change which item gets replaced by the modded one basically, so i dont look like crap to anyone who doesnt use the same mod XD

after some trying.. welp, managed to extract it and modify the .yaml or the blueprint file directly with notepad++, but failing to put it back together with trovetool after editing, even if I try without having done any modification :/ With an error message Failed reading as soon as it hits the very first file on the list

That crap drives me nuts.. i know it SHOULD work, but it refuses to do so >.<
