1) They wanted to keep each side of playerbase active
2) The console version aren't designed as cross-play in mind
3) Grinding in PC is generally easier than console
4) Prevent sudden imbalancing in Leaderboard and Marketplace
5) Why is the reason to release Switch version?
It is just impossible to suddenly merge existed playerbase unless everything was designed to cross-play, such as what BTD 6 did at the start.

But on Trove, it is just impossible because as long as one choose to play via controller, they will always in a disadvantage in terms of grinding. Not just dungeons, but materials.
That's why in Overwatch, PC player can only vs PC player for competetitive mode. Unless every future console designed to have mouse and keyboard 100% support.
Releasing multiple console platforms at different timing is just making crossplay in console much harder. Due to how many countless stuff in Trove aren't meant to grind with seconds.
