How exactly do you progress in this game?

Because whenever i play this game the only thing to do is collect items, which are never better than my current items, theres no quests to do and no clear way to progress besides collect stuff and hope its better than your current loadout

Because you have low Magic Find... ... You are supposed to get Crystal tier once your class hit lv 20, you will see new Quest in Hub about Geode Topside.

[2nd phase - Lv 20, 5k PR, Crystal Weapon]
Follow "Geode Topside Quest", once you got your Crystal Weapon, you can focus on other tutorial Quests.

This is the time where you will learn enchant such weapon via Enchanted Forge and reroll to desired stats via Chaos Forge.
Ask in Global/search about ur class. Don't worrying about forging Crystal 1, crystal tier cannot be advanced to next level (must farm on U9/U10 Topside/U10 Delves).

[3rd phase - 10k PR]
You should have:
- Purchased Stellar Rings or max Ringcrafting to craft own
- Purchasing Stellar Hat Face with 5k flux or below each are optional (Stellar gears are late game flux income instead)
- Having at least Perfect Penguin/Delves allies with similar stats
- Level up "free" Stellar 3 starting stats gems to 15.
- Socket in Shadow/Radiant gems and push to 10k mark
(You can Drag n Drop to replace trash gems later)

1) Farm as many lesser gems as you could:

2) Empowered Gem and "hidden tier" (Must do every week if want progress)

3) Try make some progress on Topside tutorial Quest. The only way to get Crystal 1 Face, Hat and Cosmic gem

4) Starts working on dragon. It could take 6 - 12 months for 75% dragons.

5) Works on Geode Cavern expertise and remember weekly Delves. There are too many things in Trove, it is your choice to pick your path.

Every dedicated Trovian should have 1 farmer and 1 DPS class.
Any Uber 9 content - NN

Delves/Levi DPS - GS, IS, Draco
U10 Farmer - Knight (without class gem), Fae (without class gem), Dino Tamer
Dual role - TR

Any unmentioned class just doesn't really fit into the current "speed meta".
You can use them but crying after 35k PR SH doing trash dmg than even a CB.

One should learn about gems' boosts, having stockpiled tons of lesser gems, Bound Brilliances, and Chaos Spark/Flare to work with lv 25 gems. Gems are your main DPS.

Spam Precise Focus to raise gem's stat %. Superior Focus only if you have no use on Diamond Dragonite and rich from U10 Topside farming.

For example:
- U9 NN only need to reach 50M Stasis Blade dmg via Martial Emblem
(364k PD, 211X% CD)
- U10 non-class gem Knight need to reach 1HKO basic atk on mob
(328k PD, 194X% CD, 8100 Light)

Farmer is more important than DPS bcs you usually get a carry or "I don't care" Delves group.

[8th phase - Mastery and multiple class]

I have Dino, Fae (No class gem, main), Knight (No class gem), NN (U9 build) as farmers.
Dracolyte and IS as DPS.
Bcs it is really boring after you played 1k - 2k hours. It took me around 2k hours or 8 months to get from MR 200 comeback with nothing up to 6th phase with 75% Dragons.

However right now, Gamigo ruined F2P's ability to buy Credit Pouches > 15 Days Patron

I am farming events, U10 Perma-torch, Delves memento, C4 from U10 Delves, etc.
Bcs I already done with most old Trove content > all ST badges, Chaotic collections, 15 000 FIshing, Dragons, Geode Crystallogy, most event mounts, even the most hated Going Green, etc...

Sitting Trove MR 655, 454th.

ill log into the game again and see where im at, i know roughly about the crystals, only reason i stopped playing years ago is because i couldnt find any way to progress.

Do not worry, it is completely normal for most Trovians. This game don't use a loudspeaker or an annoying clipboard to tell you what to do, unlike many other games.

It is all about Trove Mastery instead of power only. Most Trovians stopped at T MR 500 and G MR 100, bcs there are nothing significant afterwards. You have to press Y to really see about the game. Not everyone likes it.
