Trove
Is this game dying and/or worth going back into?
I used to play it back in 2016 and Im just wondering if the playerbase is still holding steady and if I would still find this game enjoyable today. I heard it changed for the worse so I dont know if I wanna bother installing it.

Thanks

Well that doesn't sound good...

I hope they answer your ticket and solve your issue though, goodluck.

The game was bought by Gamigo and they moved the servers a wile back ...when they did the big move it messed up a lot of the players games that had not logged into the game in like a year or more....most of the time that is info on there server that is gone forever so chances are you will have to start over. It is getting better now that there are new owners. It is being worked on and bugs fixed and stuff like it should have been when Trion had it.

Please go play literally any other game. This game isn't worth your time and take it from someone who has 5k hours across multiple accounts and a lvl 10 club.
Online games are steadily declining. If the developers do not do anything in a couple of months, the players will leave it.:steamsad:

Did the game get ruined by the devs? I just remember this game being fun which is why I am considering coming back.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Don't base your decision off of one radical opinion; majority of the player-base does not mainly consist of bots, but there are bots, specifically in the Bomber Royale game-mode.

As well, to address [CAW] DepressedDbat's comment on Gamigo being a terrible company, they're simply not; when it comes to Trove, they've fixed bugs and whatnot, released new content plus more and are active on Twitter, the Trove forums and are on Discord.

It seems [CAW] DepressedDbat is simply on the hate wagon, so to speak.

Now, more on the player-base; it's quite large and active. All of the Trove Club Discord servers and Discord servers specifically made for certain tasks in-game are filled with hundreds and even thousands of players, and in-game, I see new and old players on everyday.

Side note, I've been playing this game for half a decade.

Of course, the Trove servers are not the best for the task in hand but they work, I guess. If you don't know this already, I recommend farming in empty or fairly empty worlds to avoid annoying lag and whatnot.

Finally, I hope you give Trove another go and don't let people who don't even play the game anymore, want to push players away from the game simply because they don't find enjoyment or whatnot in the game anymore, want to hate on it and/or things connected to the game or anything of the alike persuade you into not playing Trove.

Anyway, much love, take care, friend:))<3..

Part of the reason I was so fast to accept what he said was due to the steam charts. I checked the playerbase and it is 3 time smaller than it was the last time I played, which makes me afraid of investing my time into it if its going to die soon. I cant know for sure but its still a little worrying.

Love how I'm being referenced as " one radical opinion " or just simply apart of the " hate wagon ". When you play a game for 5 thousand hours you would obviously have to enjoy the community aspect and the game itself. I spent most of my time building up my club ( The Radiant Eclipse ) which I still own. I got it up to around 700 members and grinded our way to lvl 10 ( which is no easy task and took months ). Everybody was relatively happy with the state of the game at that point in time but everyone knew it still needed work. But the day that gamigo bought the game I could tell that the over all tone shifted. Suddenly it went from contempt to worrying and worrying went to quitting. I didn't know why at first so I decided to look into the company, and when I did that all I saw is that gamigo is known for buying games with somewhat established playerbases and just milking them dry and releasing sub par content which is mostly recycled content anyways. That's when I decided to start winding down and looking at other games and now I just don't touch it anymore. I made a lot of friends along the way and I did enjoy the game for the time I did but in my honest opinion I just don't believe it's worth touching anymore. The playerbase has been dwindling for sometime after the ownership change and the playercounts are being inflated by bots. You can listen to the other guy and it's your choice after all but the game isn't going to get any better or any bigger, it's just going down and down every day. But regardless of what you do just try and have fun. That's what games are all about after all :D

I will be honest here. I don't want talk shxt on anything, it won't help.

Everyday I see random noobs and returning players join Global. Many are asking questions, some start stupid drama like "Trove is P2W", some defend it but make it worse.

But what's make it good is that there are ppl heard about my speedfarming class rant, 99.32% CH issues and why NN isn't really a perfect speedfarming class.

Yes, Trove mechanic lack of actual explanation and can actually cause a depressing moment, such as crafted 500 Rough Focus and wasted 500 time gated Bound Brilliances; or max level a 2 starting stat gem.

However, do you find a better F2P online games in your country that has better community as well?

If you do, I won't stop you.

I don't. I am aware there are better option, but so many I touched has bad community, need better PC (Corona broke my economy, pls), or need spend another hundreds of hours to actually "enjoy" the game. I enjoy the speedfarming meta in Trove not just with NN, but offmeta class like Knight without class gem and Fae.

It is also actually pay Patron to progress (real $$ or flux > Credit Pouches), not spend money to win anything, unlike any other MMORPG I touched. In short, still F2P friendly.

(But I hate Gamigo only offer 20% Credit Pouches sale, not double, if they continue do that, I will hate Gamigo)

So I ask you, do you enjoy breezing with non-Neon Ninja class in Trove within half to 1 year. If yes, play Trove.

Yeah I heard about the P2W stuff a long time ago, I was hoping that wasnt true or changed. And looking at the tiny playerbase I decided against getting back into this game even though I really wanted to.
DepressedDbat Jul 10, 2020 @ 2:11pm
Yeah it sucks because the core of the game is relatively good and I enjoyed the community aspect immensely. But after the ownership change I see no actual future for the game. Hope you end up finding another game that fills that void though
