Why is this even a thing?

Ok so I started playing a couple days ago, logged about 50 hours and the first couple of days were pretty good, some minor lag here and there but all in all pretty good.
After all that I log in this morning and the lag is literally making it unplayable and there is nothing I can do about it.

Then I started to look into it and it seems like this has been an issue for a long time...
How can you expect people to put money into your game when they can't even play it because it's so laggy.
My skills won't work properly, it takes 4 seconds to open my bag, it freezes whenever a boss gets killed, the game feels sluggish and feels like a slideshow sometimes because of all the freezing it's doing.

I'm a new player but how can you expect a new player to stick with your game and spend money on it when this is the experience they're getting?

Fix your servers and your code...

ffs if you play a game you expect it to at least work, specially if they're trying to sell you stuff.

I strongly agree with this, but there's not much they can do about this right now but we can hope one day it might get better.

It will never get better, just FYI, I've played since Closed beta, its been bad from that point to today, If Trion Worlds, who at the time had tons of money couldn't fix it, this new company isn't going to


They cant even restore an account they screwed up in a months time for myself and many months for others who are still waiting, be warned, they maybe sucking all the money they can out of the community with little to zero meaningful improvements to the game.

This seems more like a rant instead of specifying the issue.

This doesn't mean I completely ignored the issue in Trove.

I have a mid spec gaming Desktop that is based on 2015-ish, can't run Geode Topside and Sanctuary in 60 FPS. As well as any activities involving too much vfx such as "Ganda Train". I can use mods but it will only fix individually, while lowering it to minimum will make me harder to notice important Crystal Lv3 (10 Cores) and Stellar drops.

Aside from FPS, and not treating this game as super optimized one. How do us handle lag?

Keep in mind that I am from Malaysia, and there are ppl from Japan, Taiwan and even Australia connected to those servers. Those mentioned countries also have top players.

Delves usually have no issue.
New player world not so serious after Delves update.
But U10 Topside and U9 Gen worlds? Only can wait empty maps, and empty maps farming isn't the best solution, but hey, go blame the Mantle of Power for gems and introduction of items such as speed banner for speedfarming!

Otherwise u can keep complaining server lag in any fashion you like, but trust me, it won't be changed.

How does a community bring about change? You complain about it and boycott the producer until they fix their problems. He is not the first and never will be the last person to stop complaining about it and your crusade to defend trove isnt helping anyone. This game is very poorly optimized and crashes all the time, is that an excusable thing in any game? absolutely not. Just because there are top players in certain regions doesnt mean anything, the game is laggy as hell and that is an issue.

As you said, this game is poorly optimized. If continue complaining without being specify on which aspects of the game could actually bring improvement, such as Leviathan ice Sage spam abuse, Revenant Spirit Spear no cooldown, Shadow Tower botting, and many more, then the community won't bring any change.

Keep in mind that those mentioned problems DO affecting server. If we find a bug, we don't rant here. We report in Trove official Forum and just leave it. They want fix or not it's up to them. If they don't want fix, and you agreed that they gave stupid excuse, then quit and play other games.
(Trust me, don't give high expectations on an old game with majority of staffs left, and they are hiring new ones for free.)

There is primarily one arguement being made, and that the game in general is a laggy piece of trash. It is a generally agreed consensus. The developers are the ones who make and are supposed to manage this game, not you, not me, not the person making the discussion. He is a new player and when new players join and are greeted with a badly optimized and laggy game, what the hell else are they gonna do. The developers dont need to be told, they already know because everyone complains about it. In fact with the amount of time you put into your responses on every discussion you might as well use that time to contact the developers. I'm not going to because it is their responsibility and they know it already.

Why don't i just quit the game? Because it's still fun and can be multiple times more fun if it wasn't a piece of ♥♥♥♥. It's their servers not mine, and in turn im not spending money on this game until they pull themselves together.

After reading all these comments, I gotta say something. The lag, and I mean server lag, WILL NEVER go away. It's been there since before the gem update. Before they started trade banning all items. Way back in Beta, the game was so unplayable i literally stopped playing after getting that top 100 slot on the SH. That was my only real goal in the game so I feel like I beat the game honestly. But that was years ago. I try so hard to bring my self back into the game and get back on that list, and my favorite thing to do was help out the noobs learn to play. (At the time I was knowledgable in everything the game had to offer, now I'm the noob again with OP characters, how ironic.) But yet. I can't do it because I run into the lag that eventually boots me from the game. And I have perfect internet, I mean server hosting capability internet and PC. There is no excuse for the lag. There is only one fix that they tried before but went to a crappy ISP and all they did was increase their storage limits for Club worlds. Though I still like to call them guilds.
Anyway, TL:DR, The lags been there from the start 4-5ish years ago, and it will never go away no matter what we say or how much we complain. Simply stop buying things with IRL money and feeding them an easy paycheck with lazy, game breaking updates.

This game is old. It runs on old code and probably windows xp or something. These outdated systems aren’t able to handle heavy loads especially servers. If they were to change to updated systems it would mean they’d need to remake the entire game. Hence its probably never going to get fixed. During peak it WILL be unplayable. But not like this game required skill anyway.

Probably best to move on to other games. I’d recommend path of exile if you want another easy to play game. Its pay for cosmetics instead of pay to win.

This game came out in 2015. Bruh, Windows XP end in 2008.

It just pure laziness from game developers. They dont really care about the game anymore.

There are games that are older and maintained WAY better than this hot mess.

Warframe 2013
