Are Macro's allowed?

I know auto-clickers aren't allowed, I think? But what about macro's to throw sponges for example? A few dozen thousand water sponges reaaaallly ain't fun to throw.. And it's more cost-efficient to craft your own, to those who want to comment "just buy em" xD

Note: I have not used either, I just want to confirm if it's allowed before I even consider actually doing it.

There are a lot of old aspects of Trove not being updated even now. One aspect, which is discussed in the picture and replied by Fasti (retired staff), is "Opening Box".

Trust me, opening 2000+ Gem Boxes are not fun with default before Trove introduce "Auto open until rare".
Even with "Auto open until rare", it still pause due to playing sound effects, and not really helping at all. But hey! At least no need auto-clicker or mod.

So there are mods on Steam Workshop and Trovesaurus lying for years, such as auto-unlock Crystal Level 1 and 2; auto open Chest and ignore sounds; auto confirm Gem Booster Box purchase, bcs u can only buy 1 at a time with Cubits or accidentally:

Even (forum) moderator agreed about some old aspects of Trove should be updated.


These mods can violate Terms of Use but problem is they aren't removed from Steam or Trovesaurus. If they really violating, the person who created such mods (which is the known same 1-2 person), should have been banned... ...


Auto-clicker was a thing in Trove not because of sponges, but because of clicking a chat channel from /c24614 back to /c5. I am not gonna to lie. It is a very, very, very stupid bugs that took a long while to fix.

Sponges, as I said, is one of the "old aspects of Trove not being updated". Going Green only introduces more "filler" plants (except 10% AS Corn and new dragon), not quality update for those old ones.

Manually throw also justify why the price of sponge is not dirt cheap yet.
So seriously, if you want to use auto-clicker, run at your own risk or not at all. We don't know how the whole thing works, and we also reflected a lot of similar issues, such as auto-unlock Crystal Level 1 without using a mod...

Allowed? I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure they're not allowed but I do know people who use macros for various tasks and are fine to this day.

It's probably best you read the Trove rules before hand if you want to be squeaky clean.

An example of players using auto-clickers and whatnot is when I was farming Shadow Tower bosses for the badges; people would auto-click or hold down a key on the boss while someone auto-clicked the spawn button.

The example you mentioned is actually very risky to get banned. Same as using sponges or pushing a /c23451 back to c5.(fixed bug) However how Trove staff handle these nowadays, remain non-transparent to us. So we dunno.

Been making and using my own AHK macros/scripts for years.

Nothing like full automation (ie, no bots), but for instance :
- Walking and placing blocks at my walking speed while holding a key
- Navigating the marketplace (selecting and searching item names, clicking navigation/buy buttons, all from the comfort of my numpad without moving my mouse)
- Maintaining a list of world IDs and quick-joining them by pasting the join command into chat
- Back in the day, auto-shooting the shadow hunter's right click ability once fully charged by just holding right click

I emailed trion worlds support back in 2016 or 2017 asking for a greenlight on what I was doing and got it, while I stay within the bounds of "one player input becomes one meaningful world interaction".

As long as you do not commit obvious botting behaviour (eg fishing for 10 hours in the same spot), and are not vocal about your use or abuse of macros and scripts, you'll be fine.
I also encourage learning and using AHK as it is a wonderful tool with myriad purposes (I have a 24/7 on script to control my speaker volume and screen brightness using my mouse wheel for instance), and can not be de facto assimilated to cheating/scripting if running on your system.

If you want to be 100% sure you are legit and cannot be subjected to a ban for any reason, play the game vanilla without macros, scripts or mods, and have fun opening these 5k boxes :^)

There is also some trick that most Trovians dunno is to set Mouse Wheel Up/Down as a button on Adventure Mode Slot 1/2 Mode. You can keep throwing sponges, bombs by keep scrolling, but the behavior can be very oddly.

So I recommend you to find open sea first, change hotkey, while scroll slowly to spam sponges.
This also works similar on harvesting Going Green plants/ally habitats without the help of Tractor or badge ally.

(Remember to change your hotkey back!)
