Trove

What starter class should I pick?
I've already chose knight, but after that I found many people saying knight is useless and one of the worst classes. So which one starter class I should pick? I want to deal much DPS with melee or range weapon.

Also: I got starter class coin. Is this item let me change class? Am I right? And what if I'm lvl 9 now with my knight? What happens with my level and equipment after I change class?

You will keep your level and equipment after switching class.
Each class is its own "character" in mmo terms. If you have 2 classes unlocked, means you have 2 independent characters to play (both with their own gear and level).

From my experience (I have some : https://i.imgur.com/kKUILoT.png ), the cookie cutter classes are :

Gunslinger : Ranged AoE DPS
+ Best early-mid game dps. Great burst dps late-game.
+ With some jump stat, is able to float above the battlefield and never get hit save for autoguided projectiles.
+ Your class gems allows you to enable, for a short period, all your basic attacks dealing splash damage. This is great for clearing waves of enemies / dungeons.
- Very dependent on gear / gems

Shadow Hunter : Ranged single target DPS
+ Arguably the best late-game single target dps (at odds with the gunslinger)
+ Has a built-in wallhack
+ Class gem ability (unlock at PR 5000) turns your basic attack into a sicc machine gun
- Average damage early-mid game until you get said class gem
- Lacks AoE capabilities, basic attack does not pierce.

Neon Ninja : Melee burst DPS
+ Best dungeon clear speed in the game
+ Highest burst DPS
- Low sustained DPS
- Weak early (Needs its class gem to reach its peak potential)

My personal advice is to start with Gunslinger and stick with it until you get to the endgame (PR 15k+) and can afford to build and kit out a Neon Ninja.
If you want to always ever play on one single unique character and nothing else, Shadow hunter is the most versatile and can do both dungeon & shadow tower, though less efficiently than the other specialized 2.

Everything else is sub-optimal, but can be fun to play.
Knight and Tomb raiser are terrible. Avoid those.
Keep a slot / class coin at the ready for Lunar Lancer as it is the best subclass (enables periodic increase in damage & attack speed, great synergy with gunslinger main class)

Add me if you need a hand ingame.

You can try out each class up to level four and see what you like best. I reccomend finding one you enjoy playing, because Trove involves lots of grinding.

I'd recommend against playing "what you like" and instead picking a cookie cutter class to at least be the spearhead of your roster and do the farming with. Then play whatever else you like for fun times using funds acquired with your main.

If you like to play chloromancer, you're going to waste at least 3 seconds doing nothing on the beginning of every dungeon boss. After 10.000 dungeon clears, the time waste starts to add up.

Thank you so much Kheryo! I think I'll switch to gunslinger right away. I've already tested it. Next step will be neon ninja probably.

Boomeranger :
Very useful when it comes to magic find.
Very balanced.
But attack speed is very weird when it comes to it.

Also has free bombs for poor man's mining endeavours.
However our man here is looking for the sharpest blade to cleave through early content :^)
