Some people say Trove isn't pay to win but that just isn't true. Free to play and pay to win have gone hand and hand many a time and Trove is no different. If you don't believe me, just go into the store and look at some of the packs. You can't tell me that those don't give pay to win players an unfair advantage. You just can't. Getting a max pr stellar gem for a new player is basically impossible until they are at least 50 hours into the game. Pay to win players can get them almost as soon as they start though.

(I realize most people know the game is pay to win but there's still some that say it isn't)

the entire definition of pay to win means you can only obtain the power to win when buying stuff and the stuff you an buy is in no way enableing you to win anything. normally games are not even considered ptw unless a main focus is pvp either which the devs lied about not puttin in the game to begin with but it still is not the man focus. and im tellin you this buying all the mounts and getting that little bit of mastery will not help you complete and ultra st if you cannot already do it.

you are so wrong. mr 250 and you cant even figure out the main objective in this game? its to collect. Collect everything and get your mastery to the highest it can be. PR wich people miss interpret as the main focus is only the early game of trove. once you get the highest you can thru Gems, Gear, Subclass, Dragons it all comes down to how high your PR is. MR is true end game. MR is the main objective of trove.

Cant get max MR without spending. = Pay to win.

Secondly P2W isnt only PVP. Plenty of PVE MMO's have pay to win. Some WAYYY more p2w then trove.

the only logical explanation i can come up with for this type of responses and behaviour is that this mentality is driven by falling way too deep into a false sense of satisfaction and achievment in this game that you refuse to entertain the thought of playing a game designed to drive players to spend money out of frustration not the game that resides in your mind that you somehow managed to draw dillusional images of throught these 400hrs of gameply.

have you seen other devs solely living off only one game? they do exist and their games are on top 10 f2p games on steam. like PoE or WF.
Trion model was to release a game every couple of years and then live off the initial hype it gets then let it slowly lose it's playerbase except for the loyal "whales" that might have come from other trion games.
when Trove first launched it had a peak of 50k players. now it less than 1/10 of that like any other trion game. if that's not clear enough of where this game is headed then i dont know what is. no one here is telling not to play the game. you can actualy play the game as much as you like and dump as much money as you like just know that by doing the later you are not commiting a heroic act for this game so you can stop lying to yourself bout it. because the only way to save Trove and the rest for that matter is Trion admitting they are not capable of handling such projects and handing these games over to other company that might save it.

it is always the people who defend pay to win and other frowned upon acts who can come up with the weirdest and non relevent analogies possible. it's simple; you have no problem with it because you might be benifiting from it. when it stops benifiting you or you find yourself in an inferior position against those who might have more privilages than you. you will naturally speak up against it. and we are talking about video games here where it is just awkward to adapt that level of "realism?"
