xp reduction?

I don't get why some levels give less xp than previous. I thought at first it was because I had the PR but not the level or vise versa to play something. but I just moved from u6 to u7 and I have both the recommended level and required PR (and then some) and the xp drops go down from 6100 to 4700. why would I ever play on u7 if u6 is so much better until I hit some arbitrary number and they stop reducing u7 drops?

All portals tell you "suggested level". If you are 2 or more levels less than suggested then exp granted by world behind portal is decreased.
It's used to slow down multiaccount guys who can just move strong gear on low characters and jump few worlds instantly ;D

Did you check it the same day in short difference of time?
Exp event or exp day (saturday) could affect your tests.

Be sure you're comparing apples to apples, the first two bosses in a 3* don't give the same XP as a 1* dungeon from the same difficulty.

yeah. same day. the average low level dungeon in u7 gives 4700. the average low level dungeon in u6 gives 6100. and I check down every time, the vast majority of the dungeons save mega dungeons give that xp on the same day.

Weird, I can't replicate that today. On a lv 25 class (with patron, it's a 2.5 multiplier) I get 6825 U5, 10237 U6, 11812 U7, 13500 in U8.

If you didn't have patron it would be 4095*1.5 (6143xp) for U6 and 4725*1.5 (7087xp) for U7, perhaps one server thought it wasn't XP day?
