GOLDBOTS! What are they gonna do?

There's already so many goldbots in alpha mode... what are they going to do about them in beta and after official release?! Some players are already level 50, I get they want to get compensated... but is this going to turn into the economy of every other mmorpg?

goldbots are nothing new in MMO's. Trion banned a crapload a while back. The fact that they are still prevalent in alpha must mean there are some idiots out there buying gold which is rather stupid considering that alpha could be wiped and beta will be wiped come release

Ruin the game play for legit players. I'm not even joking you should look at their policy for AFKing and bots are the reason the LP system is so bad.

i'm not idiot buying from them. it just ruins the experience of my eyes trying to sift through what people are saying in chat with these spams. i'm interested in what Trion will do differently to make a difference here! -angrycustomerface-

Trion community managers have spoken about this issue in the last CBE2 Twitch Recap. They didn't go technical, but they simply said they are about to deploy a very nasty anti-cheat and anti-bot system.

I wonder if is there (or will be) a in-game report system, usually these things need the help of the community to fully function.

Like I said they already limit how much you are allowed to play with the LP system because of bots. Lets not ask for more

Never has worked in any game ever but I'm sure Trion and XL Games will be the super team to finally solve the bot issue for online gaming.

I don't see myself playing this game very long if there's no prominent solution to it by official release. One of the problems is with the scrollbar, I can't get it to the exact position to where some gold advertisers started spamming to be able to block them.

Any restrictions they add into Archeage to stop botting will also hurt the legit players. The only way to really stop bots are with a ton of GMs to watch what players are doing but that costs money so don't expect that to happen.

Thanks, bud! There's so many smart people out there, it's not impossible :D

They can't advertise that this game is about being in communication to coordinate with each other when there's a problem with the main chat window that makes us (really, I guess it's just me right now) want to ignore it.

The "Whisper" function depends on the "All" tab, which is like 90% of the conversations you want to have. The only tab that works is the "Party" and "Trade" which is very limited.

You can customize the chat tabs so maybe removing Faction chat would help. Faction chat is pretty worthless anyway mostly just arguments and spam.

YAYY!!! Right click works; I found the BASTARD! I changed my font size to 12 on chat and was able to scroll up to block "Faafsta". He's the 5th one tonight that I wasn't able to block due to the scrolling issue. Thanks for not giving up on me, Turn. I almost wanted to uninstall the game tonight :D

I guess I can ignore it for now, it will still be a problem later on - especially for those curious about this being a pay-to-win game.

They wont deploy the anti-bot/anti-hack measures until the game goes live. If they do it now then the botters and hackers will have plenty of time to analyze what they did and find countermeasures. Currently you can report a person for suspected botting and GM's will investigate them.
