Ok, so this really was weird near the end of the story, something happens which the game never explains (weird for a game that tries so hard to cover all the angles).

Can someone explain to me why Giselle suddenly vanishes from Micheals head? I got everything in the story but no reason seems to have been provided for why, when in the last chapters Micheal goes back in time, after the first day there, for no reason Giselle just vanishes until the finale.... why?

It's been a while since I last read this, but I believe it's because Giselle exhausted all of her energy as a soul/spirit trying to break free from Morgana.

If that IS the reason then the game doesnt give it. It wouldn't make sense for her to waste up all her energy once she is in michaels head.

I have another hypothesis. It does not claim to be the truth in the first instance, but still - she never was in his head in the first place. It could be just his hallucinations. Just like hallucinations of him talking with Morgana from the past, in the witch house (where he never was).

He wanted to believe that Giselle will not reject him and he wanted her to be by his side in hard times so much, that he "spawned" her in his mind. Just think about it. When he appeared in Morgana's world, Giselle, actually didn't help him anyhow. Yeah, yeah, serious moral support indeed, but that's it. Everything he did, he did by himself. And when he had to make one last step to find final clue to this puzzle... maybe he didn't need Giselle's help anymore, or she didn't even exist here?

And technically, they were not travelling back in time. They just opened one more door, just like they did before, to see what happened there. He was physically presented in Morgana's world you say? But still, he was more like an observer there. He travelled there to collect together all pieces information to make Morgana of the present to change her mind.

I wondered that if perhaps Giselle didn't exist at all after her life ended and that she was in fact another facet of Morgana's personality like the White Haired girl. Morgana had based this extra personality on what she had seen of Giselle. But unlike the White Haired Girl, Giselle wasn't aware of of this connection and neither was Morgana.

Other than Michel and Morgana, did anyone at all interact or talk about Giselle outside of her role as The Maid? Or even know what her name was? If not then she was no more an independent personality than the White Haired girl was. Everyone else in the story knew about each other. Except Giselle. No-one really knew her. She didn't fit in with everyone else.

Going by my theory, she faded out of Michel's head because Morgana was dying in the tower and she weakened and vanished because if Morgana was incapacitated she no longer be able to appear.

There were a couple of statements very late in the game which made me wonder if Morgana didn't have feelings for Michel also. Which made me consider further what Giselle really was. I was actually expecting to find out at the end that Giselle didn't exist in the way we had been led to believe.

Maybe she existed only in Michel's head, and it got bonked too hard?

But at last she died.
