it is one of those story that keeps you hold your breath from the beginning, so if it isn't the case for you, you won't like it, sadly :(
That being said, never force yourself to consume media you don't enjoy.
What I can tell you is that the game takes the drastic shift after the fourth door (and always check the backlog when you're reading the fourth door, some spooky stuff awaits you here), so try to read until the sixth door - maybe you'll start to like it. In my opinion, the most brutal and epic doors are 5, 6 and 7.
I really enjoyed Door 2 the first time around, but my opinion of it was considerably lowered on a second playthrough. Its flaws are a lot more obvious on a reread.
