Umm why did I get John's ending again?

I just played a game and my end score was:
19/40
John=0pts
Lora=0pts
Marie=60pts

and I'd only rejected John like 3 times during the first few chapters and somehow I still ended up confessing my undying love to him. ._. Why would I end up with John, even if Marie died, when I had him as low as I possibly could?

There's three endings, and John is the default ending if you don't do the required things to get to either of the others.
