How do I play local (non workshop) mods
I downloaded a mod from moddb and I can't find how to activate it.

Drop it in the mods folder in your call to arms folder.

I did--I was unable to find the mod in order to enable it once I launched the game

Does it have a mod.INFO file ,and a resource folder with mods contents inside?

If you can find same mod on steam workshop(incase you want manual install mods) subscribe to it,go to find it in workshop content folder,copy it and place it in mods folder with mod.INFO file and then freely unsubscribe from mod.

On CTA main menu ,go into workshop,your mod should appear with its name,as long as MOD.INFO file is included.

Iv started to do this with mods as a number of workshop mods have been removed from/by their authors,and i back them up.

what if I can't find the same mod on the steam workshop?

mod.info requires certain information matching the mod folder name. Here is simple example: Lets say your local mod folder name is "myspecialmod" meaning under your mods folder it would be this path to it: mods\mypecialmod

So your mod.info file in that folder (editable by notepad) should be something like this:

{Mod {Name "myspecialmod"} {Desc "just something to describe it"} {MinGameVersion "1.110"} {MaxGameVersion "1.112"} }
