hi bad,

The only time i have seen engineers build anything is when there is a shield icon in a set position on some maps in Combined Arms maps as shown below. These are seen on the minimap as a small forward facing arrowhead.

In Last Man Standing and Domination modes, select yr engineers and move the mouse over the flag point, the cursor should change to a sandbag icon, right click and they will build the first of four fortifications - A Heavy Machine Gun.

If you hold shift and right click four times, they should build all four fortifications which are:
1. HMG

2. Single layer of sandbags on 3 sides

3. Double layer of sandbags on 3 sides

4. Ammo Point on either side of flag point.

Hope this helps.

that is is fortification, i think he meant sandbags
at any place you choose
thank you all for your input, ill try that out as soon as i have a chance.
edit:
you mentioned ammo points, can i ask what are these for, as soldiers weapons have infinite ammo as far as i noticed. maybe to resuply my anti tank missiles?

soldiers weapons will run out of ammo, it is not infinite.
now im confused. you say weapons WILL run outta ammo, it IS not infinite. Are you talking about now, or about the future? because i am fairly certain that as of now (last i played was like ten minutes ago) soldiers do not deplete ammo in their held weapons. i could be wrong thou.
The Old Relic Nov 16, 2017 @ 8:06pm
As of now, i have units that run out of ammo regularly
oh ok, weird maybe i wasnt paying close enough attention. or maybe its just in hc mode? so far ive only played casual. o_O however i hope its something that can be turned off, cause it sounds bit too tedious for me

Here is a screenshot, i never play hardcore. But if you zoom in on this pic u can see the ammo count, he has fired 60 rounds so his main ammo has depleted. It is the same for all units.

Aussie is right, ammo isn't infinite for player units (only in the editor if actor is set to AI) but if you're playing Domination for example, its less likely that your soldiers will run out of ammo since there is a good chance that at one point they come close to a flagpoint, where they will automatically refill their ammo.

oh that might be it, i have my units mostly hang around flagpoints, so it does make sense that i never noticed any shortage, for they were resuplying constantly.

Hi Bad, the below screenshot shows the flashing yellow reload icon above my soldier. This is the indicator that the soldier is reloading. The small white circle is the reloading circle, troops must be inside that circle to reload. The ammo points i mentioned above will have these small white circles, as will some armoured vehicles and ammunition trucks. It is always good to keep an eye on your ammo as you most likely know. When your soldiers run out of ammo for their main weapon they will revert to their sidearm which isnt ideal.

oh cool i have noticed that symbol before, but i thought it just meant theyre changing their mag for a new one, but now it all makes much more sense :)) i was wondering what those cyrcles around vehicles meant ;)
