You are introduced to different units and your missions are detailed in that way to complete these (simple) tasks.
And there is Skirmish mode of course = the 'real' training ground for Single Player.
The focus of this game is on multiplayer and thus it has "Training" missions for ALL multiplayer modes.
I guess, the devs build this game for RTS and/or "Men of War" veterans first and foremost, not assuming it was necessary (or within their limited resources) to do yet another round of "move camera with wasd..." and "left click on units and right click mouse button to move".
In-game every icon you can click on explains the action in a mouse-over pop-up text and which shortcut key it is mapped to.
The first US mission still doesn't say you can enter FPS view with E, how to manage unit inventories, or that you can pick up dropped weapons and how to use ammo trucks, or how to repair with an engineer and how to use medics, how many people need to operate a certain vehicle, just the basic Right click to move and figure everything out later by yourself!
I can see that they made this for Men of War veterans, but still... maybe that's the reason why not many people are getting into this if the game doesn't tell you how to play it? There aren't even many good youtube videos of it, I've seen in a multiplayer game someone built a double barricade in one command and I still have no idea how to do that.
Or at least do it like Escape from Tarkov where they display a bunch of default keybinds and explain what they do in the menus and during loading as tips. Here they could be gradually displayed during missions, it'd have been great if it told me which key to use to pick up the document in the sniper mission because I had to manually pick it up, but in missions like Black Hawk Down, you just pick up the detonator by just going near it.
And I'm not joking, I've completed a bunch of the US campaign, but they are all giving me Legendary Steam achievements, only 3.8% of players completed Black Hawk Down on Medium difficulity and Evacuation on Easy etc. It's a shame because it's such an amazing game and what they did with the campaign is phenomenal, each mission is unique and not just the standard RTS go there, capture stuff. There are a few missions like those but majority of them are like the Sniper mission, Solo Battlefield 3 like tank mission, defense, the Black Hawk Down mission, there's a stealth mission, but people don't get to experience it if they have the Sniper mission as the third and for many even RTS players, it's hard to figure out what to do if you barely get any info.
