Here are different versions of BMP-3: https://www.army-technology.com/projects/bmp-3/
Modern versions are comparable to mini-tanks, in a way that they also shoot APSDS rounds, as crazy at it might sound.
However giving every faction more vehicles is good good idea, as it increases our options of play alot. Like usa uses m113 APC and m1117 armored security vehicle but it isn't present ingame. Also america has many variants of MATV, stryker, humvee which are not ingame.
So to conclude, giving russia more units is great , but also give other factions more vehicles to even things out. Im sure more vehicles=versatility in gameplay
No, T-90M variant (if I remember corretcly it was "Proryv-5") which is currently cleared for mass-production has longer 2A82. But you are correct that earlier prorotype varians (Proryv-1 to 3) had 2A46M-5.
You should look for the more updated info, from 2019, when final version of T-90M (which was accepted into service) was unveiled - you can visually see a longer gun compared to T-90A. I think the new gun was incorporated since 3rd or 4th prototype and announced back in 2017.
Here is the offical press-release (in russian, with photos) hignligting the main features of the final variant:

1)Its current in-game basic tank (T-72B, 1989 variant) was always pretty rare due to the short production run. Maybe it should be transferred to GRM.
2)Almost all T-72B tanks (1985 var, which was the main Russian tank until the introduction of T-72B3)in the active units already upgraded to the T-72B3 variant.
And as a mid-tier tank, they should get T-72B3M (another name: T-72B3, 2016 version), with new ERA & sideskirts from T-90M, new gun, engine and transmission, improved FCS. This variant since 2018 is a currently procured variant of T-72.
