Is it worth buying?
I've been a big fan of the previous Men of War games. I love the rearming an exhausted army, looking after precious few vehicles or units, elements to the games... That every unit is important. I didn't really enjoy what Assault Squad 2 ended up as.... basically capture, defend, move up, capture, defend, etc. It was all about spamming and repetition. Yes, I know it was geared more toward online market.

I downloaded Red Rising mod yesterday for it, but realised it's effectively just an online only mod. Which was a huge shame as I could spend hours playing that if there were single player missions or a proper implemented skirmish mode with AI (I like online but also enjoy slow time games with AI with stories/narratives).

Which brings me onto this....

I've seen all the anger from those who bought this game a few years ago etc etc. But that aside, is it worth the money - Deluxe at least? What is the state of the the campaign / single player side of things? The latest press release on this was a little sketchy and can't find any info on the net about actual content...

Lastly...

Re the game version purchase graph the devs uploaded:-

1. What does "...... Army unlocked" mean?
2. In your press release above, you say, " These factions will be available for beta testing to Deluxe and Season Pass owners"..... But in the graph, the Beta testing of factions is ONLY for ultimate edition owners, not deluxe?

Please can someone clarify? I want to know what I'm getting before I make an informed decision...

yes, it's good RTS...but we find this game has turned to FPS/TPS....and since i play Battlefield 1, I dont understand why this game try to FPS ?

Any way there's a RTS mode so if you like RTS it's a very good game

If you want all content available today go for the paid version or deluxe. Season pass is for upcoming content (not released yet). It's refreshing compared to men of war, meaning all solo missions are different and varied in terms of gameplay/environment, yet only the US campaign is available today.

All factions will be available for everyone except that those who paid the seaon pass will have all units unlocked when it's available (that's why you read "army unlocked), the rest will have to play the game and gain xp to unlock the new units.

true, i hope the devs will keep their promise to balance the situatio between ai and human, right now, this game is descending into Call of duty playing style. No amount of strategy can counter the big advantage that First person direct control has. A militiaman with simple ak 47 can destroy half of my squad under direct control. Geez he fires faster than my freaking soldier with machine gun

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have now purchased the deluxe edition.

I am guessing that the whole'unlocking' of units only applies to Multiplayer games?

That reminds me of the shortcut kits for Battlefield games....

Free version has to unlock units. It is meant to be more of a demo version.
