People were building gaming rigs since 3D graphics was invented by 3dfx which was bought out by Nvidia. Playing games with gamepads as well. Based on your comment you were in diapers mistaking body parts for joysticks in that learning process. The point is if your going to make a comment be careful that you might insult. Especially when you're WRONG.
Just tested and you can map 360 controller buttons without any problems.
But if you want to be able to remap completely the layout (some values are hardcoded, like the LT/RT to move the camera), it'll require a third-part program like xpadder, or Pinnacle Game Profiler (which already have a working profile for this game : http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/pc-controller-support/alpha-gamepad-joystick/xbox-360-ps3-psx-etc/call-of-juarez ).
