Multiplayer or Coop?

I don't think that even if The Dark Ages added multiplayer would it fit that description, but if you want actual classic Doom PVP, Doom + Doom II has recently pushed an update with a focus on multiplayer.

You could also just do Zandronum, Odamex or ZDaemon if you didn't want to buy DOOM for the 20th time

Doom The Dark Ages will be entirely cofused on campaign, which is good, altough i think id love to see a co-op expansion. In my opinion DOOM 2016 should stay as the multiplayer DOOM game since i've played it and i think its verry good. It would also be pretty bad to have the allready small amount of players playing multiplayer split into 3 games that have multiplayer.

I worded my original post very poorly as I was extremely tired. I meant to say that I would like to play a modernized arena-style fast paced shooter with TDM / DM / CTF game modes, using the new DOOM graphics and gameplay mechanics.

I don't want another rehash of the asymmetrical PVP multiplayer we got from the last DOOM game - that wasn't my cup of tea.

Yeah same...what a shame this doesn't have multiplayer, it doesn't even have co-op...For me a games value is in the multiplayer or co-op, whereas in a singleplayer only game once you've completed it, it is just taking up a lot of hard drive space, and we get all that for $70...Not for me.

By default it will be 100% single player, but with mods being a thing I'm willing to bet there's probably going to be a multiplayer mod and maybe even a co-op mod

Well it's been 16 years, so my guess is sometime around the time when I actually seriously break a rule rather than just disagreeing with something that people have, for some reason, emotionally invested themselves in.
