32 GB of RAM?
What's causing the RAM usage?

how RAM requirement is related to 5000 series? :steamfacepalm:

32gb ram is starting to become the norm if you want to run the highest quality.

There is always the medium quality if you don't build an appropriate rig for the settings you wish to run.
Pathtracing mah dude
Also bigger maps I guess
Man I hope the game isn't gonna be Seriious Sam 4 clone

But yeah, at medium you could still run it with 16 Ram
The incompetence of developers is what's causing such huge requirements.
People have managed to put entire islands worth of open world on PS3/4, but now its impossible without 128GB ram, rtx, upscaling, framegen and other bullsh1t that just masks their incompetence.

128gb ram? You ok there mate?

It's 32gb ram and only if you want to play the game at max settings at 1440p at 60fps.

If you want to play games at that level of settings with todays modern gaming technologies then I suggest you build your rig appropriately.

Anyone that's pushing top end 1440p or even 4k are already running 32gb, hell most of us consider it the norm nowadays for multi-tasking applications and the market price of ram has been very reasonable over the last 2 years.

In the meantime you have the settings slider and the option for medium settings.

The incompetence points to you my friend for not reading the system specifications properly along with viewing the technologies being used in this game. 32gb ram is a recommendation for the top end elite settings not to actually play the game.

I push out desktop computers on a mass in enterprise environments and I set the minimum benchmark at 16gb ram with a 512gb NVMe and these are simple day to day basic application desktop users, why, because the whole hardware level and price market has shifted.

CoD Ghosts had 6gb ram min req even though it was an Xbox 360 game. Xbox 360 has 512mb ram.

True Crime on PS 2 is a 240 square mile open world game. GTA V is 30 square miles. Of course those games have much worse graphics than this.

That would use VRAM, not RAM

Its still gotta load all that information generation somewhere
The game is going to require a lot of RAM and VRAM to stream huge amount of data.

Because Hugo Martin has stonks invested in Ram markets.
I think some of it is just the sheer scale of stuff in terms of scope and complexity going from Eternal to this. But part of me also wonders if they're using something like DirectStorage, given the NVMe requirement. That might also increase RAM requirements if they're relying on a lot of very fast dynamic memory allocation and streaming between storage, RAM, and VRAM.
