GTX 1060 is almost 9 years old. Of course it won't be supported.

No point of getting a 5000 series when you can buy a used 3070/3080 at a cheap price now on Ebay and it states the recommeded gpu is 3080.
yeah i dont play modern games much

I don't live in the US, prices are always high. For me it's better to get a brand new card.
alan wake 2 also required a hardware raytracing-capable GPU, but they launched a patch to help performance. hopefully they do the same for this game too

I will probably upgrade this year now, but I will always prioritize frames over RT.
I'm glad I finally upgraded this year. RIP my old 1050 ti.

What do you mean?
Graphics: NVIDIA or AMD hardware Raytracing-capable GPU with 8GB dedicated VRAM or better (examples: NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER or better, AMD RX 6600 or better)

I guess missed the text. Normally they mention separately in another row

I've heard technician say most people sell their rtx 3000 because they are going to fail, is that true?
While I don't mind this personally (though, it would be nice to have the option for those who want it) I am curious as to the technical reasoning. Like, is IdTech8 just totally eschewing raster and exclusively using a unified raytraced lighting model? Did they just not want to provide for separate rendering paths? I hope we get an IdTech8 showcase discussing this before launch.
