Gamer outrage is getting a bit tiresome...
Just looking at the threads in this forum, it has made me realize how annoying it can be sometimes when I just see all this negativity without merit or thought. Let me clarify that yes, the game has its issues and I'm holding off myself until it is on sale (not waiting on that 10%, much lower), but Christ. It feels like some people in here just had their dogs butchered right in front of them. This whole "gamer outage" mentality just gets tiring after awhile.

I thought games were supposed to be a thing that people played to be happy, but obviously, this isn't the case.

And before you say something, no, I'm not having a woke mentality or anything of that nature. I could care less about that sort of mindset. I'm just saying some of the logic here is inherently flawed or some people just need to calm down. There are valid complaints, I'm not defending Bethesda (who is most likely the main culprit in all of this), Microsoft, or iD.

With that, we'll see where this thread goes. :sans:

EDIT: I am not saying opinions against the game are bad. You need a variety of opinions to figure out what a game is like. I'm more focused on the people that contribute nothing other than pure rage. I get it that there are those who do it for the clown awards, and those are just as bad as they can fool people into thinking there are issues that are not there in the first place.

I'm also not so bothered by this that it is ruining my life. Trust me, I have things outside of this that are more concerning (That's not a "I'm better than you" quip, just putting things in perspective). I don't get so involved in gaming discussions now because of the reasons I've given.

Gamers are stupid. You're not supposed to enjoy games. You're supposed to whine and ♥♥♥♥♥ about every little thing and make a stink like $80 games were never a thing in the past.
I'm getting pretty annoyed by every single new game having 100+ pointless threads about how the game is woke, not woke, unoptimized for people with 10+ year old PCs, too hard, too easy, this streamer said that, steam player count.

It is every single game without fail that has these topics...
Gamers are just nasty people. After it became popular and mainstream it's been going downhill.
If it helps then it's a known fact that these people are depressed in their real life and that's why they gotta let it out on the internet.
DEAR OP:
DONT USE THE LORD'S NAME IN VAIN.

anti-gamergate wokester detected, also

I'd say a big issue is the hype train, gamers get took for a ride with trailers that look awesome, they look forward and get excited for the next game. When it turns out they can't run the game, it crashes or the game play doesn't match the hype they get pi**ed, I'd say it's understandable, expected human behaviour. When you disappoint someone, when your product doesn't live up to expectations you're going to get a reaction.

How is that "understandable"? There are folks on here who have an old rig and are trying to run a game known for pushing graphical limitations.

I'd say the big issue is Gamers not being able, or simply unwilling, to read.

*edited for supreme irony

They aren't gamer's. They are drama queens looking for badges and same kind of acknowledgement that is probably missing from their real lives. It can be fun to read though.

This is exactly the kind of post OP was talking about. Since there is no qualification for being a "gamer" we get plentiful little nuggets of unhelpfulness like this.

Steam forums are always truly awful. I would love to see threads that actually talk about the game and the things that are in the game instead of the 57th "raytracing is required??" or "this game is a FLOP" thread but apparently that is too much to ask for.

Yes, it is too much to ask for. These SJWs will not stop until they make everyone as miserable as they are themselves.
And you think the "everything is woke" crowd is any better?

Same mask, different side.

Gamer with a capital "G". They're the kind of people who raged against Anita Sarkeesian while ignoring all of the rest of the obvious signs of decay in journalism. Because she's a woman, if that needs to be spelled out.

Oh no, Company tries to make profit with their product!
Oh no, look at these Numbers! (outside of Primetime and of course without considerding different timezones)
Oh no, Denuvo!

Its just so damn tiresome and at times im literally ashamed to be a gamer and part of this community.
There were times when people used to actually talk about the games on platforms like this, nowadays its nothing but drama, idiocy, complaints and people that willingly make complete asses out of themselfes for the sake of attention.
Negativity is encouraged and supported due to the rise of social media.

Those are the same people. The people who are waging this bizarre war against "woke" (which they cannot define) are Social Justice Warriors.

I agree with this post. A lot of the gaming community has a definitive hate boner for everything that does not suit the specific needs of one person. While everyone is entitled to his/her/their opinions, there is so much complaining out here.

Not looking at system requirements and not being able to run a game?
"ID SOFTWARE SUCKS!"

Game has high system requirements
"NOBODY CAN PLAY THIS, UTTER TRASH'

Game has low system requirements
"WHY DOES THIS LOOK LIKE SOMETHING FROM 2002!!?!? LMAO"

It does not play like Eternal?
"THESE DEVS ARE ♥♥♥♥!"

It DOES play like Eternal?
"NO INNOVATION WHATSOEVER!"

This game has less concurrent player numbers than other titels, but that shouldn't really matter because it's single player?
"LOL FAIL DEAD GAME!"

I agree that games not being well optimized is very frustrating and devs should be made aware as much as possible. But there's so much bs being thrown around.

The good news is. You can just ignore all that stuff and play the game.
You definitely hit nail on the head, haters are just going to hate.

You clearly didn't read my post. I'm not defending any of the companies involved. I'm not even buying the game right now because of the current issues. I do not think people should give their money freely to companies. Don't read into it like that.

Then why do you care?

Cool story bro, we still aren't going to buy the game though...
