Is it just me, or does it look semi open world?
The trailer looked almost open world

DOOM is no stranger to expansive-looking environments for big set pieces. I assume the dragon parts are linear like a rail shooter.

Hardly any reason to expect this game to be open world.

I hope they move away from arena encounters and be more open ended.

Well for the flying part, it does make sense.

I bet it will be just bigger levels, maybe instead of a bunch of missions and levels it's only 4 levels and multiple missions in each level or something like that
While I'd be skeptical of it being open world, I do think more expansive level scale and higher enemy counts seem to be what they're seeking to emphasize and communicate in the trailer. Making that a focus of it may suggest that's one of their priorities this time around.

All I know is that it looks metal and crazy and I, as the kids say, am here for it.

Running from locked arena to locked arena is a valid criticism both 2016 and Eternal had. Eternal tried to mask it better with platforming and demon fights in between the big arenas, but the next step just might be wide open level design like Classic doom but on AAA scale.
