This siege literally took me 50 minutes to complete alone, but I managed to do it. It's doable. Sniper Elite difficulty, For Elite Players enemy setup.
And well, for the Preacher... I wasn't even using it. If you're lucky, you can search zombies on the ground. They might give you a bit of ammo, IF you're lucky.
Sorry. Couldn't resist.
I have nothing against the enemies and their design. This topic just reminded me how close combat intensive the maps in the third installment are. I am not fond of that map design decision.
Because he's poorly balanced for the game. This is a game about sniping, and they put in a charging spindick who starts off the fight immune to headshots.
Which is what you have to do, yes. However that is made much more difficult when you have zombies pouring out of every conceivable hole in the zone, ready to slap you the second you try to take aim at him.
I am going to keep trying. My issue with his inclusion was that it made an otherwise normal level spike in challenge beyond appropriate degrees. A well designed game has a steady incline of difficulty, scaffolds the challenges so they feel rewarding when completed, and never seem impossible, even on the first attempt.
This is just a slog and an exercise in monotony.
omg yes, that first siege, in the pillbunkers, when they first show up. Had to lap around that small area several times to kill them all. And infinitely spawning kamikazes? no thanks. No thanks.
I was only able to kill the chainsaw with dynamite and a few grenades thrown at my own feet. I would throw one right at my feet, let him catch up to me, and run off before it exploded. Throwing from a distance never worked because he can out run it. Dynamite also helped a lot, but landmines were never tripped.
The BEST advice I can give for that level is there is a small vent that you prone crawl through. In fact I think you have to crawl through it to get to the electrical switch to start the horde, so you can't miss it. Simply crawl under it and stay prone. Back up enough into the building so the zombies wont bother to come directly to the vent to hit you and will have to circle around. Then once they've done that and start tickling your anus, crawl a bit further up so you're on the other side of the vent. Again, they can't crawl after you, so they'll go around.
It stil takes forever to do the level, but at least it got done. Also realized you don't take fall damage, so dont' be afraid to vault off the balcony.
That's sniper school tactics right there! I'm so glad players are enjouying their ranged zombie headshots. :)
