Stuck at Rebellion Screen

My game was working fine a couple of days ago but as soon as I launched into game today (27th January 2017) I was stuck at the rebellion screen and it refused to go any further. My game hadn't crashed it was just stuck! My friend experienced the same at exactly the same time... Weird!

Wondering if other people are having this same issues and whether we can expect some form of fix or solution if it's a known bug?
