Any way to rotate with short cut key?
I can map the hand tool no problem to one of my pen buttons, very handy...but I can't find any way to map the other button to a simple rotate tool

the rotate only apears with the hand tool but its slow and combersome...on the navigator there is a small rotating arrow that is exactly what i want to map my button to.

Does anybody have any idea how i can do this?

thankyou.

Go to "Shortcut Key Setting" on the "Edit" menu. Then, on the "Menu" section, "View" subsection, you got "Rotate CW" (clockwise) and "Rotate CCW" (counter-clockwise). Just set 'em to whatever ye wanna.

Have fun!

Are you referring to the Image Rotate 90 CW / 180 / 90 CCW? There are no shortcuts for them, you have to manually set a keybind for them in the Shortcut Key Settings.

If you're talking about arbitrary rotation, I don't think there is one.

What I suggested rotates the canvas by 10º with each key press. I'd call it pretty arbitrary.

thankyou guys but ya...the rotation you are talking about is permanent...rotates the canvas and makes that the new real orientation of the canvas, i just want to quick rotate like in the navigator but just holding down one button on my pen.

this really should be a feature. separate the rotation from the hand tool and make that its own tool.

The permanent rotation you're talking about is on the "Image" menu. The one I'm talking about is on the "View" menu, which is non-destructive/non-permanent.

The default keys for it are F11 and F12, if I remember correctly.

you are correct but its still to stiff. thanx anyways

If by stiff you mean slow, then I do agree. On my Command Pad, I've set it to press the key 3 times to make up for it (effectively rotating 30º at once), now that I remember.

OH! On the Preferences menu, right on the Tools section, you can set the middle mouse button as the rotation tool, and that's as smooth as the Navigator.

Sucks if you already move the canvas around with the middle click (assuming you have it on the tablet's pen buttons, as it's usually a default config), but if you'd rather use the spacebar for that, then you should be good to go!

I really think they outta add options for Shift+Middle-Click, along with Ctrl and Alt (plus combos). The possibilities would be ENDLESS!!! Ok, 7, but still!

Ah, I see, I was looking under image which is the permanent rotation, I didn't notice rotation option under view. Thanks for pointing that out.

Oh, one thing I just noticed: Spacebar+ALT (yes, in that order) turns the hand tool into rotation mode, even if you turn "Hand Control" off in the Preferences. It's as smooth as the one in the Navigator, too!

Maybe that's closer to what you're looking for, BTD?
