Patch #1 - Release Notes

The first major patch is here! This update focuses on expanding gameplay with new upgrade systems, polishing existing features, improving UI and audio feedback, and fixing bugs based on community feedback.

We’re also incredibly excited to release the official soundtrack as a DLC, featuring music by world-renowned electronic producer Joel Mull. The music has been a core part of the game’s atmosphere from the start, and now you can enjoy it outside the game as well. Huge thanks to Joel for crafting such a powerful and immersive soundscape!

New Feature: Building Upgrade Station

The Building Upgrade Station is now active. You can spend Crystals mined during your runs to unlock permanent meta-upgrades that strengthen your colonies across future playthroughs.

New upgrades include:

Alpha-7 Droid – A powerful new droid unit assembled at the Droid Factory.
Shield Domes – Add protective shielding to your turrets.
Improved Power Plants – Increased energy output for more efficient colonies.
Enhanced Trading Outposts – Boost your resource management and economy.

Game Balance

Reworked enemy scaling and resource pacing to make difficulty progression more consistent.
Buffs and nerfs to select weapons, perks, and enemy waves for improved game flow and strategic variety.

UI & Quality of Life

Updated menus and HUD for better readability and cleaner visuals.
[Pause menu now correctly displays detailed information across all tabs, especially the Building tab.

Weapon Improvements

All weapons have received an updated audio mix to ensure better in-game feedback and impact.

Building Polish

Adjusted build sizes for the Droid Factory and Trading Outpost to improve placement.
General polish pass on building visuals and construction feedback.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where the Building tab in the pause menu was not displaying correct values.
Audio feedback updated for XP, Credit, and Crystal pickups.
Fixed issue with Droid combat circle indicator not deactivating after deployment.

demo broken

Just letting you know it's broken. After the intro- when it scrolls up saying i'm part of the infinite engine and only the crystals matter- it fades away to blood. It just kept repeating, fading to blood over and over. I couldn't play at all. Had to alt+f4 out....

First week after the release!

Hey everyone,

The game is now officially released! It’s been a long road to get here, and seeing my first game out in the world is a huge moment. I’ve learned so much along the way, and I want to thank my friends and everyone at Caketown for all the help and support in getting the game across the finish line.

A special thank you also goes to electronic music legend Joel Mull, who composed the game’s original soundtrack. It adds so much atmosphere to the world, and I’m thrilled to announce that the soundtrack will be released as a DLC alongside the first post-launch patch on April 8th!

Coming in Patch #1 (April 8)

Building Upgrade Station
Activate the station to unlock meta-upgrades using Crystals mined during your runs. Upgrades include:

A new droid: Alpha-7
Shield domes for turrets
Improved power plants
Enhanced trading outposts

Game Balance
Buffs, nerfs, and tweaks to improve the overall challenge and pacing.

UI and Quality of Life
Cleaner menus, better feedback, and general usability improvements.

Building Polish
Visual improvements and adjusted build sizes for key buildings like the droid factory and trading outpost.

Weapon Improvements
I have polished the weapon audio mix to ensure each weapon delivers the right feedback and impact.

Wave Defense: Trappist is now live on Steam! Build, fight, explore, and customize your Mech as you defend your base across the hostile worlds of the Trappist system. I’m excited for you all to dive in and experience everything the game has to offer.

Key Features:

Base Building & Defense: Construct and upgrade your base to withstand relentless alien waves.
Mech Customization: Unlock weapons, perks, and cosmetics to tailor your Mech to your playstyle.
Paint Mode: Create custom paint jobs for your Mech.
Photo Mode: Capture your best moments while exploring new worlds.
Intense Combat: Use powerful weapons, turrets, and strategic upgrades to survive.

If you’ve played the demo, your progress—including your custom Mech paint jobs—will carry over to the full game.
