Oculus rift Anti-alias/Supersampling?
I see lots of games that have good anti alias around edges in VR mode, and NL2 should really benefit from this as coaster supports sometimes take up alot of the view (extra clear in the Colossus track).

Maybe these other games all use an engine like Unreal4 or CryEngine, and NL2 does not, and it is extra hard to implement or why is this not done?
The Anti-alias in the Display settings does absolutely nothing in VR with the Oculus, for me it does nothing in non VR mode either.

This may sound dumb, but have you tried to overriding the anti-aliasing with a program like nvidia inspector? It really can help a lot.

Well, I have tried both Oculus debug tool, and Nvidia 3D settings... Don't know about Nvidia inspector...

There is something special with AA in VR and I saw one post before that stated that it would never be done since there was some thing not supported by Oculus... But it can't be true since so many other games do AA in Oculus VR...

CV1.

Now there are settings in steamvr for supersampling ("Application Resolution Adjustment" in steamvr settings). But setting it doesn't have any effect on NL2, but works on other games (like skyrimvr)...

Anyone got it to work? Or does NL2 need an update before it can work?

Anyone here running VR and either see the problem or don't see it?

I am going to add improved anti-aliasing using MSAA in one of the next updates. I need to optimize it a bit further. Since NL2 is basically a one man project with a custom engine, you cannot compare it with other games.

Why not? You can't compare support or dev times but the game itself should be comparable.

Sure you can compare it. I meant that I do not have the time to add every feature other games have.

Lol, I don't think you have any competition either way.

Sounds good... Didn't know of MSAA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multisample_anti-aliasing)...

It sounds easier to just allow SuperSampling in steam (render at a higher resolution and downscale), but better performance to support lesser hw is also good.

Looking forward to a release.

Lol, that's funny. MSAA is older and more common in games than super sampling afaik.

Any way to enhance AntiAliasing in NL2? High Aliasing is visible on railing.

NL2 > Setup > Display > AntiAliasing: MSAA 8x
Looks fine now.
