I wanted to love Double Dragon Gaiden but it doesn't hold a candle to Streets of Rage 4 or River City Girls. Neon was good on sale but didn't feel like a proper Double Dragon game. IV was right for the low price but I wish it was worth paying for and as great as what it is trying to emulate. Especially considering the first 2 NES titles are my favorite Double Dragon games. But really I wasn't a fan of Return of Double Dragon, Double Dragon V, or 3.
What I'm really hoping for is if the game is fun! Streets of Rage 4 used a different look than what people were expecting. But it delivered... It played like the classics and had even better game play.

(Billy and Jimmy's new designs look more feminine than Marian's).
Title is also weird... they are now 4, should it be Quadruple Dragon?
It seems like the political agenda prohibits a woman from appearing as a victim... plus Marian dies in Double Dragon 2...
Shouldn't they let her rest in peace and introduce a new character instead of exploiting her identity?
From my point of view, the best are Double Dragon 1 and 2 Arcade (the ones on Dotemu on Steam), and Double Dragon Neon, for me, is a very good Double Dragon game, with redesigned gameplay to appeal to a new audience while maintaining the essence of the classics.
Street of Rage 4 is the best sequel I've ever seen to an old game. It far surpasses the originals in every aspect.
It's a shame they didn't include Roo as a "new" redrawn character.
CITY CONNECTION isn't usually known for its impressive graphics, but what it does, it does well, and the gameplay is generally excellent. I think RUSHING BEAT X could be an excellent game, and I'm really looking forward to playing it.

In the NES version, she doesn't die.
