Debug Room and Core
So I think it's safe to say this game still holds many secrets and some may just be red herrings, but something I noticed was that in the debug room under "Absolute Red" there is an option called, "The Core." When you browse through the game files, there is a folder called, "Core." Anyone got theories? I'm wondering if somewhere you can find files that contain the files missing to not cause the fatal error in Absolute Red.
The missing files are:
battle_background in red/background
obj_crow in red/object
spr_crow in red/sprites

I don't think there are actual missing files, as the game is wrapped in a .bin file (that you can't exactly add or subtract files from).

I'm not sure if this is some obscure reference from a previous work, something that will be explained in the future, or if I'm missing something all together...

That's kind of what I'm thinking as well? I don't know too much about game files and stuff like that. I just know there are games where you can manipulate the files and it can alter the game so I was wondering if it was similar in that sense.

Well most devs don't incorporate content to that extend hidden behind the small portion of people who are able to mod their games. One should actually be able to modify the game with those files and include them. Also if this message would be accurate/realistic, it would be possible to fix this error like that with modding. There are people who already dug into the game and found some stuff. But i haven't heard about anyone unlocking the fight itself. And i guess if this would be possible easily, people would most likely have found a way already. There is more in the Absolute Red though, which players haven't been able to trigger normally in the game, like a shop in a city with more items, custom background, menu and stuff. This might be cut content or an indication that there could be more to it.

Interestingly you keep everything you earned when you die in the Absolute Red, so i figured you might need to do something before you enter the boss, like loosing all 4 of your limbs, get some blessings, earn 1000 fragments, or something else.
Like you mentioned there are different selections under Absolute Red which might have some relevance as well.

Like i suspected it seems that there isn't much more to be seen, someone said about the error message "it doesn't check for any files, it doesn't do anything". And since people already dug pretty deep it seems that there isn't some huge revelation hidden. Of course there are some mysteries and hidden things which many players might have missed.

Honestly, looking into the files, I didn't see any additional dialogue outside of that error message. I think that's all there is.

Plenty of stuff just isn't explained.

Those are some pretty interesting "cut content." I wonder if this is either a teaser for another game he wants to make or if it's a scrapped game idea. Either way, I appreciate the info!
I played through Absolute Red and it hasn't done anything I beat it on every name available in the debug mode. It's kind of disappointing that I did all those runs but it didn't unlock anything :steamsad: It would have been awesome if it unlocked a secret character or maybe a new unlockable or even an ending would be nice. Maybe it will be in an update in the future hopefully. Or maybe the creator could specific that it doesn't affect main game.

I imagine people are already aware but translating the text for the debug room using the in game translator gets: lose the skin and reveal oneself.

The CORE file seems to work independently from the original game, as it has it's own separate folders

I’m gonna try and remove The Core and play some more mainly trying to find the Red Room in the second area since that upgrade is called Absolute Red or maybe the Red Room in I think Lunas dream
