Bear vs Great Mother Totem
What's the difference? Did the DEV just added 2 totems that do the exact same thing?

Perhaps. The only difference would be whether you'd prefer being a Bear Shaman or a Great Mother shaman, story-wise.

Yeah, it's only fluff & flavor to my knowlage. Mechanically, they're exactly the same.

Same stats, it's a purely fluff differenc. That said there are much better totems then bear/great mother.

There are better totems?

Only one I ever use are bear and eagle (for rigger only). +1 stat is not worth the 1 AP or the krama investment.

Unless you mean Hong Kong, then cobra will be the go to totem (not that Hong Kong has much combat per say).

There's some silly things you can do with Creator, and the way it keeps spirits at zero break-away chance. Why, hello fifth party member! The world sure seems flamable today!

Prefered Fish in Hong Kong, though. Not the flashiest by any means, but adds some really nice survavability.

Eagle is definitely one of the two best in dragon fal with wild huntstman being the other. With a two round cool down, eagle basically means a free +15% to hit ever turn for your pc and once you hit AP 3 it just become better.

@dwarfpcfan

You do need to bunch up rather dangerusly for Cat, though.

Sure, it's hillarius with two drones just laying down fire, but you'll eat a few granades doing it.

Bear & GM are fine totems - only that the heal spell is unlocked at Spellcasting 2. It is very good to have a heal, but it is easy to get anyway (although the totem heal is unaffected by cyberware and has an AoE). There's a number of good totems and if you do not want spellcasting Bear / GM certainly count among them imo.
I really don't see why you would spend AP on anything other than Bear or Eagle (drones only). Wild huntsman is more a penalty than a bonus at higher difficults.

@Zado.

The Totem spells don't take up a spell-book slot, but goes into their own, uniqe slot, as well.

I could see somebody considering healing capability a must but feeling that it limits their spell selection picking Bear or Great Mother for that reason.

It being a AOE instead of aimed like the standard heal is something of a mixed blessing, though.

The aim penalty appears to bug out, so Wild Huntsman is actually quite good for high frequency attackers.

I just love totems... So good! <3
You are right, the -10% doesn't affect your character at all. You just get +4 damage.

Also in case anyone missed this, eagle totem does not stack with accuracy buff spell.
