Corruption Rework

Many players felt too punished for failing to meet the Restoration criteria within 10 days. Previously, with enemies permanently buffed, it became extremely difficult to recover. To address this, I’ve made a significant change to the mechanic.

Now, only the boss's health is affected by Corruption. This means you’ll only need to focus your defenses during boss invasions rather than dealing with a continuous increase in enemy strength.

However, Restoration is still crucial—if ignored, bosses will become extremely difficult to stop and will deal massive damage to your Stronghold.

Balancing Changes

Other than the changes for the corruption system, I have tried to make slight adjustments that will hopefully favor the player and make things a bit more balanced.

General

Removed all crossroads and loops for the path in the starting area.

Defense Buildings

Shooting Bunker Attack Rate buffed: 0.7 → 1
Ballista Attack Damage nerfed: 50 → 25
Ballista New Skill added: Critical Hit 30%
Axe Tower Lethality buffed: 4 → 5
Catapult Explosive Damage buffed: 70 → 85

Utility Buildings

Church Rarity changed: Blue Tier → Green Tier
Church Restoration Income nerfed: 4 → 3
Pyramid Rarity changed: Gold Tier → Blue Tier
Pyramid Restoration Income nerfed: 3 base + 2 per Church → 2 base + 1 per Church
Library Research Income buffed: 3 → 4

Enemies

Enemy Nerfs

Yellow Slime Move Speed: 1.28 → 1.2
Yellow Slime HP: 640 → 620
Orc HP: 1300 → 1200
Red Knight HP: 1700 → 1600
Gold Knight HP: 2300 → 2200
Big Bug HP: 4800 → 4400
Slime Boss HP: 3200 → 2800
Troll Boss HP: 8000 → 6500
Knight Boss HP: 5500 → 5000
Bug Boss HP: 13,000 → 11,000

Enemy Buffs

Slime Boss Speed: 0.8 → 1

Needs a serious rebalance

Don't get a crossroad map?, get rekt Don't get a early ballista, or Axe tower?, get rekt Don't get the exact upgrades, from a huge pool of RNG?, get rekt RNG didn't giver you tower choices?, get rekt This isn't a strategy game, this is a RNG puzzle, where you just pray to get the exact drops...

Music Rework

Now after the game has been out for a little while, my wonderful musician Jan-Peter Itze felt like the music could be improved. We brainstormed together and managed to make something that we are both very proud of. Hope you enjoy the changes that he made.

Bug Fixes

Restoration accords that give restoration on specific resource acquired, now actually gives restoration from all sources and not just filling the related resource bar.
Fixed issue where Restoration accords related to depleting a specific resource node gave restoration from the unrelated resource nodes as well.
Tooltip for the Ramp up skill has been clarified to say Attack Rate instead of Dexterity

Balancing Changes

Axe Tower base damage nerfed from 40 → 25
Added Lethality skill to Axe Tower
Archer Tower base attack rate nerfed from 0.85 → 0.8
Nerfed Morality skill upgrades from 4/5 → 3/4

Bug fixes

Fixed the bug where the game occasionally crashed or froze when you got defeated
Fixed the bug where the you got stuck in the tutorial and not being able to close the window
Fixed the bug where skill value text for expertise skills ended up on two rows

BUG: Nothing spawning on Day 71..?

Just made it to Day 71. I hit the "start phase" button and all the towers start firing (axes spinning, mages spinning...) but, no monsters spawn.

BUG: Issues with multi-tasking.

Enjoying the game so far, looking forward to what else is in the pipeline! One item to raise: I play on MacOS and it really doesn't handle tabbing in and out very well. The vast majority of the time, I just can't get back to the game. I try to tab over to it or even click it in the Dock at the bottom and it just doesn't do anything. My active window goes inactive as though it's now focused on another app, but it won't come back up. Have to force quit it from the Dock and restart....

A few suggestions

Having played for 10+ hours now, here are a few suggestions: - Speed up the end of day and end of game results windows. After you've played a bunch of games on triple speed, those two windows seem so slow. - Remember our game speed and results window speed selections between games. - When destroying a source, don't zoom in if we've already zoomed out. It's a bit annoying having to reset the zoom after the animation. Also speed up that animation based on the game speed setting. - Remember the position we sc...
