Quick weapon swap?

I used to play this game years ago, and I distinctly remember an advanced options menu to enable the console and quick weapon swapping. This menu appears to no longer be available, and I don't see a command line in the config file.

Anybody have any insight on this? Also, a search of both google and the forums has yielded no results.

Open up the command console, and type "hud_fastswitch 1" to get a quick weapon swap, if you dont like and want to change it back go hud_fastswitch 0

Many server admins consider quickswitching to be cheating. They'll ban you.

Yup, a few admins consider it cheating just don`t pistol roll in front of them and they will never know.

Strange, because using "q" to switch to your last used weapon gives the same effect.

Simular but quickswitch allows you to switch to any weapon without confirmation, there used to be many discussions about it being an exploit.

I've played since early beta and I've never heard of this insanity. Quickswitch is fine.
