The first is a proper Kyrati pronunciation. The second is an ANGLCISED (or, "Americanised") pronunciation.

My first name is properly spelled Sean ... it'ss gaelic in origin. The anglicised spelling is Shawn. They sound identical.

In this case, it's not the spelling that's being changed ... it's the way it's pronounced.

I think he/she was referring to the voice actress, who is indeed Canadian (-Vietnamese).

Yes, but she might have grown up in NA anyway. Her English was way too different from the others.

I'm not particularly interested in the nationality of the voice actor/actress. A good voice actor/actress can always fake a convincing accent.
