Tried to change destination Steam library folder to another disk with plenty space - the same problem.
2.) It shows up under the library downloads
3.) Click to install - goes through the normal install
4.) It then jumps to a screen that says its downloading and I can go to the Manage Downloads page, however, it does not download. It simply looks and acts like it completed but with 0 bytes / 0 bytes downloaded.
5.) I get the Master of Orion [Play] button and when I click it I get:
6.) Steam - Error (failed to start game (missing executable).
I knew this since it only pretended to download, any ideas?
quick addition of things tried: I already went through the software uninstall list; remove appcache folder; Run as admin; steam://flushconfig; Verifying integrity of game chache; and making sure I add library folder.
0 bytes / 0 bytes downloaded
usually only shows on items in your download "QUEUE" that are waiting for some event prior to downloading; such as the completion of the current (paused?) download (and any others ahead of THIS particular one), or a particular time.
My download queue currently has a MOO patch set to download at a specific time.
If you don't have anything else you want downloaded sooner - your Steam download manager will allow you to bump a queued download up to "download now" status.
If you don't have a download in the queue - then try verifying the Local Game Cache:
In your Steam Library right click on the game title, select properties, navigate to the Local Files tab, select "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE..."
... this usually fixes the "failed to start game (missing executable)" issue.
