Troop transports
So I've built a troop transport and flown it to the planet of an enemy who I am at war with. I've bombarded the planet to nothing, and want to take it, but get told I have no troops on my transport. When I fly it back to one of my planets I see no option to board troops and troops don't seem to board of I just leave it there for a few turns (yes I have a military base on the planet). Any help?

Must have at least one population to invade. But if you went all genocidal and you left no population, send a colony ship instead.

When I scrap a transport ship all marines have been disappeared :steamsad:

There is no option to add new marines in a planet:steamsad:

Right - A few things I think needs to be explained.

Troops can only invade planets that still have population on them - They don't really have anything to do if you've already nuked a planet to pieces. They don't have the equipment for that, let alone repopulate it.

Every planet that has the barracks for making Troop Transports will slowly (re)train new ones. If you can't queue up a transport, it means the planet simply doesn't have enough trained soldiers around.

I highly suggest making several planets responsible for training up troops since you'll be using a lot of them to take over well defended planets - Especially if you don't want to nuke the population and infrastructure to hell.

Yeah, well, I didn't have that particular problem while playing the Meklar yesterday, I went all extinction protocol on all biological lifeforms in the universe and nuked or blew up their planets.

When I conquered a planet more than twenty marines have been left, but when I checked thte barrack, I've found in it only 4 (FOUR!!!!) marines! Where the rest? :steamsad:

Troop Transports are a bit difficult to use, especially if this bug from EA1 still exists! If you have e.g. 8 troop transports in your fleet, and then click on invade, all 8 are gone regardless of the number of enemy marines left. So even a planet without any defence consumes all of your marines while invasion. In MoO2 only one transport was used in such cases, so actually having more than two in a fleet seems a waste of marines (which need a lot of time to recruit and -train again).

I do not use troop transports anymore, it's a waste of time and too annoying (miss the MoO2-Elarians^^). It's a lot easier to demand the whole planets from the other races by diplomacy :D
