We understand that the Antarians were banished by the Orions because they're a bunch of wuss and won't deliver the killing blow thus they keep coming back to get their asses handed back to them eventually. It gets old and it would be a nice change if they could just develop the story more about the Orions and Antarians relationship or their past that lead to this new reboot of MoO.
Just my 2 cents.
MoO2 - Battle at Antares had each race as a player/AI plus the Antarans as an allout evil supervillain striking at everyone with small assault fleets and then vanishing again.
Orions and Antarans have a similar relationship from what I know like the Timelords and Daleks in Doctor Who. They waged war against each other and both sides vanished. It is questionable what happened to each side.
Maybe the Orions ventured on to other galaxies or higher planes of existence, we only know that Antares seemingly vanished into this pocket dimension, from where the Antarans plan and perform their strikes from.
Would you prefer several starsystems this time so they can overrun the entire galaxy this time? Fine with me, but then I want more than just one Doomstar as compensation.
Apart from GNN rumours no sign of Antarans yet but since they appeared in MOO2 and this is a reboot of MOO1 im not overly surprised. Could be a DLC/addon feature later.
With MoO3 came an instruction manual with a storyline in wich the Antarans took revenge and wiped out the Bulrathi and the Mrrshan.
In their place came the Ithcul and a number of other races.
