AI Fleet composition in UCP and UCP+5x Mod
When i played UCP 6.4 the AI had better Fleets, more ships in the Fleets.
Now (i played with my fiend like 24 games in multiplayer) the AI fleets are very small (no more that 3-4 ships no matter the size of their empires) and easy to defeat.
Its just my impression or this happened to you also?
Or maybe its because there is no correlation yet at the moment between the UCP 6.4 and the 5x mod?

Part of the 5X Balance includes getting the 5X UCP Corrections Mod and Assets Mod too. So you have those installed too?

in UCP 6.4 the AI is playing better from the perspective of fleets, i play only in hard mode (the same level of difficulty in UCP 6.4 and 5X).
They have more ships, they are more agressive, in 5x mod i didnt see any fleet with more than 4 ships.

In UCP 6.4 i always played at maximum CP, since the AI will always attack me with 9 or more ships in the fleet. Now they are still attack me or asking me for money, by they are doing this with far less ships, 2 or 3 to be more precise.

Tactical Mod fixes a lot of these toughness issues; but it is a very different in over all play from 5X Balance; much less space for things in Tactical Mod. I play only in "Impossible" so that the AI gets a bit more dominating and bold. I also used Angry Galaxy for especially hard games (the AI is harder to keep happy, so will attack if it feels it can win).

There is a blueprint issue that prevents the AI from building many of their ships which will be fixed in the next 5X. Basically if the blueprint doesn't include a bomb then the AI does not consider it a military ship.

5X removes the bombs from several blueprints because it's a more optimal strategy to do so for more effective combat ships, but this backfired spectacularly due to this bug (which is not fixed in UCP). This may affect some races more than others and also depends on which ship types they choose, so randomness plays a role in how bad it may get.

Tactical mod already puts at least 1 bomb on every AI ship, and that's how it will be for 5X in the next update. I hope to see improved AI fleet building as a result but have not had time to test. I will do a pass on their personality settings as well, but those should be more militarist generally than vanilla already.

Cool, SPUD. Didn't know that about the bombs. Funny, as I started making sure all the bombers and frigates each carried at least a bomb, and in some cases a bio-weapon (small in size so as not to take away too much space); they seem happy to use them, such that it puts a nice twist in the game when some of the AI players are "forced" to sometimes use them - making the rest of the galaxy upset.
