Other than that they have simular ships to the humans, they are pretty much different already.
The animated and voiced leader and advisers probally cost a bunch of time and money.
The only thing simular are the ships.
I would argue that the two Human races actually are vastly different. The Humans conquer the galaxy with words and a pat on the back, the Terrans conquer the galaxy with ships and a knife in the back. They are extremely different in that regard.
In an alternate universe I'd neglected my fleet and the galaxy thought I was their whipping boy. Built a fleet very fast and broke the back of the Meklar empire.
To me the difference is the space between, "HI nice to meet you, " and "Come get some. "
I love them.
I'd say they're more likely to stab you in the front than the back. Respect among enemies and all that.
This will definitely be improved over time. The Humans right now are intended to be the best race to play if you want to win a diplomatic victory.
